XYLON has been gone for quite some time. ‘Where did that arse go?’ He left me alone in this old house. What if someone shows up here? It's getting late and he’s still out there in the middle of the forest.

I was forced to look outside the wide window. There was no sign of him. I faintly grasped the ledge. I shouldn't care, right? I shouldn't think about him after what he said. I don’t know why he’s so difficult to understand.

Sometimes, he’s so kind to me. Then, sometimes, he’s so distant. Our relationship used to be like that anyway, but now... it's getting really worse.

It was his fault why I treat him this way. If only he was sorry. If he could only woo me.

I sighed and decided to wait for Xylon outside. We are surrounded by woods. There could be wild animals around.

'What if?’ I thought for a moment. What if something happened to him? What if he was beaten by a snake? And even if he wanted to go home, he couldn't find a way because of the poison that was slowly killing him? ‘Oh god, no!’

I walked and tried to look at the surroundings. I stepped into the thicket. The sun has set. Darkness has cut off any glint of light in the area. The air has cooled as well. It has always been like this. At daylight, the warmth of the sunshine will get through my skin. At dusk, the wind blows cold as ice. And the sound of crickets will crawl all over the place.

I squeezed myself. It's getting cold.

‘Where are you, Xyle?’

"Xylon!" I called out his name. "Xylon, where are you?"

Fear enveloped me. What if my hunches were true? Where can I turn to and call for help? I feel like I wanted to blame Fiore. He shouldn’t have left us here. He shouldn’t have brought us in here in the first place. He’s so selfish. I know it's my fault, but he shouldn’t have left me here. With Xylon! Or probably, he intended to do this to punish us.

I was distracted by the soft noise I heard from a distance. Could be him.

"Xyle? Xylon, is that you?"

I slowly approached the thing that was moving behind the tall hay.

"Xylon?"

I was shocked to see two small circles shining and glowing in the dark.

Then I heard a growl...

Sh*t! As if a wild animal had seen me and was now approaching. I stepped back. My heart was thumping. I saw it moved. Moving towards my direction. I ran. I almost cried for help.

‘Oh no, no! Am I going to die this soon? Damn!’

There's the loud growling again. I ran faster. I stepped on some sharp objects but ignored them even If I was already hurting. Then I collided with something hard and almost scream.

"Miranda?"

That familiar voice.
