Dacey stood behind the curtain and heard the sound of the crowd going nuts. She could feel the gaze of her mentor, Mr. Gibson, on her from behind. She could feel his concern for her.
She knew she had dropped the ball last week. Even now, after one week of targeted training to get accustomed to the crowd's reaction, it wasn't easy for her to just ignore the crowd and do her thing.
Hearing it over the speakers was one thing and hearing the crowd live was entirely another thing. Dacey took a deep breath and tried to center herself. As her mind calmed down, Rob's advice from their last meeting echoed in her mind.
