Chapter 7: The spar

Camp half-blood

3rd POV

Elena dodged a blow that would certainly leave a bruise on her face, the tip of the wooden sword missing by a few inches as it cut through the air in front of her face. She quickly took a step backward while also rebalancing herself before quickly falling into the stance that had been drilled into her head in the past couple of weeks.

She swung her wooden sword intending to hit her opponent square on the chest, but her blow was blocked by her enemy's shield before they tried to thrust their sword as if impaling her, but she was quick and quickly deflected the sword away from her body thanks to her wrist guard, she followed it with a strong kick toward her opponent's right knee.

The result was them falling to a knee as they didn't expect it, when they looked up they had to quickly raise their shield to not suffer the following blow toward their head. There was a short power struggle as they each tried to overpower the other, but it soon came to a stop as both had to separate to avoid two arrows aimed toward each of their head.

" That's enough for today. Elena, you did well, you have taken swordsmanship like a fish into the water, but you still tend to leave your left side exposed, you also need to work more on paying more attention to your surroundings, I saw how you almost tripped with the rocks and branches around you, you don't want to commit the same error as Hector from Troy did.

You two are the only ones still fighting." Chiron finished speaking, lowering his bow as he studied the two demigods in front of him before turning around and galloping to a different pair of demigods who patiently waited for his instructions, the previous two demigods just now realized the crowd of demigods that were watching their spar.

Elena breathed out as she tried to calm her heart rate down. She has been training since early morning, and her body was also full of bruises, but she couldn't deny the rush and adrenaline that she feels when fighting with a sword, and her opponent was someone who could easily match her and most often not, win.

She turned to nod in respect toward her opponent who was none other than Nico di Angelo, another child of one of the big three who has been practicing with her since her arrival, she was confused at first that someone like him, a veteran of the last war showed interest in her, but then again, they were cousins.

At first, it was awkward for her as she never truly had any male friends, but surprisingly, Nico was nothing but nice and understanding toward her. It was thanks to him that she was able to adapt so fast at the camp, though there's also another reason why he quickly became her best friend.

The simple fact is that Nico was a close friend of her half-brother, Percy Jackson. She has asked about him from Nico, and she couldn't help but be so immersed in all the stories that her fellow demigod shared with her.

Through every story that she hears, she always learns something new about Percy, his selflessness, his caring but serious attitude that he acquired after all the things he went through, the leader that many, including Nico himself, followed without hesitation on the battlefield and quests.

It was actually learning from Nico about Percy's near-perfect swordsmanship that encouraged her to learn the way of the sword. She wanted to master it so that she could make him proud when she finally meets him, but it is also to have something in common with him.

Because no matter what the others tell her, she could easily see the high expectations that most people in the camp have for her, she knew very well that more often than not, she was being compared to her half-brother, and she felt that she lacks the qualities that made her brother such an important and amazing person.

So lost she was in her thoughts that when Nico shook her shoulder, she yelped in surprise, receiving a smirk from Nico. She couldn't help but blush in embarrassment before punching his shoulder.

" Don't do that, you know I find it annoying," Elena grumbled while walking to the side of the training ground where the weapons stand rested before putting away her sword and armor, by now most of the crowd dispersed as the other children of the gods resumed their routines and assignments.

Nico, having followed her could only smirk wider before laughing, before following her example and also putting away his armor and weapons.

" Not my fault you get lost in that little head of yours, besides I always find your reactions amusing.

You didn't even hear me when I asked you if you wanted to hang out with the others after this." Nico said after finishing and just waited for Elena's response.

Elena finished putting away her equipment and turned to look at Nico waiting for her, she rolled her eyes at it before shaking her head in denial.

" Thanks for the invitation, but I would like to have some private time in my father's cabin. Besides, we will see each other later, or have you forgotten about what Chiron has tasked us with early in the morning?" Elena asked while raising her right eyebrow in curiosity.

Nico on the other hand, blushed as he actually forgot about it. Chiron tasked him and Elena with helping some of the other demigods in building a new storage building near the forest where they will save supplies. More and more demigods have started to arrive at the camp after the arrival of Elena.

Something that Nico and the other older demigods noticed right away along with Elena even though she didn't pay it no mind, but like it or not, it filled the hearts of the others with anxiety and wariness, because this only happens when something big or a catastrophe occurs, the last war being the perfect example.

" Well, I may have forgotten about it, but now that you reminded me of it, I will have to save my energy for it. I guess that I will see you later then, try not to get into trouble, you and Percy sadly share that trait." Nico joked as he walked away, waving his hand over his shoulder.

" Hey! it only happened once!" Elena shouted, flustered as she was once again reminded of her fiasco from days ago when she accidentally soaked some of the older children of Ares while she was practicing her powers near the river, neither to say they weren't happy and she was sure that she would have ended in the infirmary if it wasn't for Nico, some of the other demigods and the older girl named Clarisse who is in charge of the Ares cabin intervening in time.

She growled as she heard Nico laughing in the distance before it faded into nothing, she stood there for mere seconds while the other demigods continued with their own business and routines around her in the training grounds.

She finally turned and started to walk toward her cabin. While walking she passed many other campers that nodded at seeing her, she would nod back or wave in return.

The moment she reached her father's cabin, she stood there observing its outside appearance, still amazed at it.

Poseidon's cabin is open and wooden for the most part with a trident over the entryway and two banners with a Trident on them that says Poseidon's cabin on it. There are also tent canvases on the windows for privacy. Poseidon's cabin is low, long, and solid, with most of the windows facing the sea. The outer walls are rough gray stone with pieces of seashells, and corals and look like the bottom of the ocean floor.

Elena walked through the entryway and she was met with the inside of the now-familiar cabin, there are four empty beds and the walls glowed like an abalone. There are also a few bronze hippocampi on the ceiling as decorations, along with unknown underwater plants and corals, sitting on the window sill.

In the middle of the cabin, is a fountain made out of gray sea rock with a fish that spouts the water from its mouth and coral decoration. The bottom was filled with golden drachmas for Iris Messages, although Elena doesn't know if the coins will ever run out, so far she has only used the fountain once when she wanted to speak with her mother.

Other things that could be found in the cabin are a hammock, chairs, desks, a life-sized metal Trident against a wall, scrolls, and a book. There is also a steering wheel, a telescope, and lanterns. Finally, the cabin also leads to a personal dock. The cabin is built near the beach and has an excellent view of it, that's where Elena would spend most of her free time.

She walked toward her dresser and took a clean set of clothes before walking to the bathroom where she took a shower, so lost in enjoying the water that she started to lowly sing a tune that her mother taught her, revealing to her that it was an ancient greek tune that her father taught her mother not long before her birth.

Minutes passed by till Elena finally exited the bathroom fully clothed. She went to throw her dirty clothes into the dirty container of clothes, but soon after she was distracted by the sound of cries coming from her bed, she hurriedly walked toward it and sat on it, she carefully moved the large dark bundle of blanket that was carefully placed by her previously aside.

" Aww, Ikaros, did I wake you up? It's okay, I'm here now." Elena quietly said as she fondly stroked the head of the little hatchling that was shaking and crying in the middle of the blanket. The little hatchling is a golden eagle baby that Elena has been taking care of for the past couple of days. Elena found him on her bed next to a note after finishing that day's routine.

At first, she was confused and wary about it but she soon found out from the letter that it was actually a gift from her half-brother out of all people. In the letter, it explained that the little hatchling was partially blessed by him, which means that the eagle will be much smarter and physically stronger than normal, it will also grow faster though so far he still remains a hatchling. It also says that the hatchling is bonded with her.

Elena can admit it being true as she is much more attached to the little guy than she expected and she can most of the time understand its mood and vice-versa. In the letter, it also says that she should train more so that she could grow stronger to better protect herself, and that If there comes a time where her life is on the line, to pray to him as he will send help, and that he will watch over her from the heavens.

As Ikaros stopped crying and fondly play with her fingers, she couldn't help but smile in happiness, knowing that she now has a companion and that her brother doesn't hold any negative feelings toward her, but in reality, cares for her, enough that he will try to help her when the time comes, something that she's glad of.

She got up from her bed and brought Ikaros with her and placed him on top of a table as she starts to chop a small piece of raw meat into tiny pieces that she keeps in a small fridge solely for Ikaros. When the little pieces were small enough that Ikaros could safely eat them, she put the tiny pieces on a small plate before placing it next to the hatchling, who at seeing the meat wobbly made its way to it and start devouring it while making happy chirping sounds.

" You know, no one is going to steal it from you…" Elena fondly said while shaking her head in amusement. Ikaros seemingly having understood what she said, simply flick his small and yet featherless wings toward her accompanied by frantic chirps before returning to his meal.

Elena simply rolled her eyes at him before taking a seat near him, careful that he doesn't choke or perhaps walk too close to the table's edge and risk falling off. While doing that she picked up a book that she has been recently reading. It wasn't till hours later that she would leave her cabin, not before placing Ikaros back in the black blanket on top of her bed in order to start building the storage cabin that Chiron has assigned her to build alongside the other demigods.

Sally's apartment- New York.

Perseus was standing near the window as he watched the mortals rushing to whatever errand they had to take care of outside his mother's apartment. He could only reminisce back to when he was only a mortal just a decade ago, always rushing every day, worrying about the next day and the usual problems that come with being a demigod son of Poseidon.

Perseus was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Hera walking up to him, not till she sneaked her arms around him, effectively hugging him from behind while poking her head around his left arm.

" What's wrong dear, you have been distracted all day, I thought you'll be happy with us spending time with your mother?" Hera asked while slowly caressing his clothed chest in affection, her eyes clouded with love and worry.

Perseus turned around in Hera's arms, facing her as he hugged Hera at her waist before kissing her forehead, he couldn't help but lose himself for mere seconds in her beautiful eyes, just like the first time, till he focused back on her words.

" Nothing, I'm just worried for the future, Olympus's prosperity, and the demigods' safety," Perseus responded as he slowly drew circles with one of his hands at Hera's waist, who at hearing his words frowned before shaking her head.

" Percy, I along with many others, mortals and immortals alike have faith in you. I understand that you are troubled by the heavy expectations and responsibilities that you now have, but know that I, along with your parents and friends, are here for you." Hera calmly spoke, having already known what has been troubling her lover, something that has been going on for a few weeks now, merely a day after the demigod Elena arrived at camp half-blood.

Percy hearing Hera's words could only blink in surprise, his eyes showed sadness for a millisecond before smiling warmly at her, the brief emotion fading too fast for Hera to properly recognize it, though she did save it for later.

" So you have noticed? Was it obvious?"

" No, but I have long learned the signs of when something is troubling you, you typically get lost in thoughts and sometimes can't hide your frowns, but your broodings are also a clear sign," Hera says with a smile, mischief plainly obvious to see in her eyes.

At hearing her words, Percy couldn't help but playfully gasp and fake being hurt while clutching his chest with his right hand.

" I let you know that I may do a lot of things, but I do not brood." Hera rolled her eyes but she couldn't help but smile even more, but before she could respond, the couple was interrupted.

" Yes you do son, I always thought that it made you look adorable when you were nothing but a little boy." The two lovebirds turned to face the direction the voice came from, and there they found Sally leaning against the wall outside of the kitchen, looking at them with a smirk while warmly looking at the sight of the two deities together.

Behind her Paul exited the kitchen carrying a large tray with cups of tea and food, he walked toward the table between the couches and reclining chair in the living room before setting it on top of it, he took his cup of tea and turned to face the other three people in the living room before sipping his tea.

" Don't embarrass your son Sally, or he will start to brood for the rest of the day." Paul joked, breaking into snickering before taking his seat on the reclining chair.

" Hey! You too?!" Percy couldn't help but exclaim in exasperation, his only answer was chuckling from all three.

Sally shakes her head in amusement before taking a seat on the couch near Paul, she is followed by her son and Hera as they sit together on the second couch.

They talked, joked, and simply relaxed as the hours went by. Perseus couldn't help but smile warmly as he calmly watched his mother and Hera talking about Greek cuisine, with Hera sharing some recipes from old Greek dishes while Paul was calmly watching a game of soccer on the television.

He could remember the first time he brought Hera with him to meet his mother, neither to say, it was awkward at first, but his mother Sally easily broke it with her loving and caring personality, she and Hera quickly bonded and a friendship was created between them.

He could also remember the embarrassing moments when his mother showed Hera an album with pictures of him during his childhood, neither to say they both enjoyed looking through it while also poking fun at him.

Perseus focused back to the present as he felt Hera touching his arm, he turned toward her confused only to be met with an expectant expression from her and his mother.

" Uh yes? I'm sorry I didn't hear you, I got lost in thoughts." At this Hera rolled her eyes before repeating herself.

" I asked you if you will be alright with me and your mother visiting the new mall down in the city?" At this Perseus couldn't help but be confused, why would they want to go there?

But Perseus quickly glances toward his watch on his right wrist and notices that it will be four in less than fifteen minutes. He turned back to the two women and shrugged his shoulders.

" I don't have a problem with that, this way at least you two can have fun together, but while that happens, I will have to leave. I have agreed to meet with father and Hades for our weekly spars at four." Sally nodded with a smile while Hera rolled her eyes but understood the reasons behind it.

Perseus, Poseidon, and Hades have taken to spar against each other as a way to prepare for the incoming war, this also proves to be advantageous for Perseus as it means for him to better understand his powers, to reach and surpass the limits of his actual strength against two opponents who are easily his equals in terms of raw power and strength.

While in the case of Poseidon and Hades, it is for them to get back in shape because if the past war against their father has shown them anything, it is that they have become rusty and too complacent in the past millennia.

As Perseus got up and hugged Paul and Sally in farewell, he kissed Hera and found it almost too tempting to just stay with her, but concluded that they can have some private time later at night at their palace. As the couples separated, Hera's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered something important.

" Percy, I have forgotten about it till now but I heard that Hephaestus finished working on modifying your master bolt, you should go and pick it up before joining my brothers." Hera's words caused Perseus to smirk in excitement, he has been waiting since a week ago.

You see, while the master bolt is an incredible weapon, with the only things capable to rival it being his father's trident and Hade's helm of darkness, it is not exactly suited to his style of fighting, yes he could change the shape of it and all, it is capable to easily vaporize an entire country if he really wishes so, but he missed using a sword, not to mention that in the recent years he has come to enjoy using a spear as much as a sword, he could only blame Hera for that as she insisted on him learning how to use a spear in order to better gain an understanding in order to fight opponents with said weapon. But who would've thought he would actually find to enjoy using a spear.

So it was with that in mind that Perseus requested Hephaestus to modify it by reforging it into a spear that will also have the ability to shift into a sword as he wishes with the original form prior to the reforging being still accessible.

Perseus thanked Hera with a second kiss, this one deeper and more intense, enough that even Sally and Paul had to turn away from them with slight blushes on their faces. Thankfully Perseus broke the kiss before it could change into something more…passionate, in front of his mother no less.

After saying goodbye and warning his mother and paul to close their eyes, Perseus teleported away in a quick and short flash of golden light.

Olympus

Perseus appeared outside Hephaestus's workshop and promptly walked inside. He was met with the counter with the very god himself behind it, behind him lay a door that Perseus knew led to his personal forge.

" Good afternoon Hephaestus, I have been told that you finished working on the master bolt, is it right?" Perseus greeted before questioning, knowing very well that it was done.

Hephaestus looked up from his list of orders that he has to work through for the next couple of weeks when he heard Perseus's voice, his expression showing surprise before changing into understanding before he returned the greeting.

" Hello Perseus, and yes it is ready, give me a minute, I will go and bring it to you." The god of blacksmiths said before walking inside his forge. Perseus barely had enough time to quickly glance around the shop before Hephaestus returned.

Hephaestus set the familiar black cloth on top of the counter before revealing the master bolt warped inside, the shop being engulfed in bright blue light as the sounds of lightning sounded in the shop. Perseus noted that it had the same appearance since the last time he saw it, the only difference being that now the rod of pure lightning has a golden metallic handle in the middle.

He picked it up and held it in his hand, he noted how it felt different, glancing at Hephaestus, he received a nod from the older god before focusing back on his symbol of power. He narrowed his eyes as he focused for a few seconds, and suddenly the master bolt changed into a golden spear.

The spear was as tall as he was and it was decorated with sky blue and black greek engravings and writings, the blade itself at the top was long and much sharper than anything he has seen. Interestingly enough the spear was slightly hollow on the inside as it was filled with blue lightning, it was then that he realized that the golden metallic hand grip from early possibly expanded and fully engulfed the master bolt, trapping it inside of it. He turned to ask Hephaestus if his suspicion was correct but as if reading his thoughts, Hephaestus spoke before he could ask.

" I see that you have already figured it out, yes it did indeed cover it, and let me tell you something, it wasn't easy to make it work, I had the help of the original creators of the master bolt." At this, Perseus stared at Hephaestus in shock.

" You mean the Elder Cyclopes?" Perseus asked in wonder as he turned back to his new spear after receiving a nod in affirmation from Hephaestus. Satisfied with it, Perseus shift it into its sword form and it was just as awe-inspiring as its spear form. The blade was a large golden and white metal sword with bluish hues of energy and pure lightning that brimmed through it, it was also bigger than any sword he has wielded but not where it will be unpractical to wield on the battlefield, the sword reach his chest level if compared next to him when it comes to its length. Finally satisfied with it, Perseus dismissed his weapon not before returning it into its spear form.

He turned to Hephaestus and profusely thanked him, which flustered Hephaestus as he wasn't used to being thanked so profusely after forging things for others, Perseus left the workshop not before paying Hephaestus with extra golden drachmas.

Outside, Perseus glanced at his watch and saw that the time for his spar against his father and uncle is near, so with a deep breath, Perseus teleported to where he and the other two gods will battle each other.

Greece-unknown Location

Perseus appeared on the familiar land that he and the other two big three chose as their battlefield for the past weeks. It was mostly a barren land with giant boulders here and there, there was also a river not too far away along with a mountain. Any plant life that it previously had has long ago died after the numerous sparring sessions in the past and long ago scared away all animals that used to live there.

They have chosen this location due to it being far away from any human city or town and for having the least amount of risk being interrupted, or accidentally killing any unfortunate mortal passing by.

And so there he waited dressed in a black suit with a blue button-up t-shirt, black tie, and black dressing shoes, arms crossed against his chest. As the minutes passed by though, Perseus started to lightly frown, which slowly grew as time passed. It got to the point where he started to glare at the ground as if blaming it for the others' lateness and in turn the clouds in the sky turned into dark grey, threatening to release a wave of rain and lightning.

Finally, after fifteen minutes past four, two golden lights appeared in a short-lived flash, meters away from Perseus and each other.

When the light disappeared, it revealed Hades and Poseidon adorned in their respective Greek armor and wielding their respective symbols of powers and weapon in Hades' case as he had his sword in its sheath at his waist.

As the two gods studied their surroundings, they spotted Perseus, and hid their grimaces as they noticed the angry frown on Perseus' face, they walked closer but stopped at fifteen feet, mostly because it was their norm but also because they didn't want to get too close while the younger of the three is in such foul mood.

As none of the two gods made any motion to speak and the silence prolonged, Perseus finally lost it as he grunted in irritation, his frown worsening.

" I hope that the reason for you two being late and making me wait for almost twenty minutes is important." As Perseus growled those words, a bright golden light engulf his form, when it faded it revealed Perseus in his own godly armor with his golden corinthian spartan helmet adorned with a white plume, his long black hair falling over his shoulders underneath the golden helmet and in his right hand he held his master bolt in its original base form, the cracking sound of hot searing lightning randomly sparking in the air near it, breaking the tense silence, the smell of ozone soon became palpable in the air.

Poseidon shrugged his shoulders while leaning on his trident. An action that caught his son's attention.

" Sorry Percy, but I had a…" Poseidon mumbled intangibly, this confused and caught the attention of the other two.

Hades frowned, confused about what his brother was mumbling about. " Speak loud and clear brother, neither I nor Perseus can understand your mumblings."

Poseidon glared at Hades' words before heavily sighing in irritation.

" I said that I'm late because I had an argument with my wife Amphitrite, it took me longer than I thought to calm her down and resolve the misunderstanding," Poseidon repeated, this time loud and clear for the other two to understand. Hades couldn't help but chuckle at his brother's misfortune, even Perseus's frown lessened slightly and one could see a very small smirk on his lips.

Perseus shook his head and calmed himself down before getting serious.

" Forget it, we are here to spar and we have already wasted enough time. Same rules as always, a free for all for the next five to seven hours, our true divine forms are off the table, all plays and tricks in the books are available except for an army of undead." At this, Perseus directed his last words directly at Hades who simply nodded in acceptance, already familiar with the rules that the three of them agreed upon for their sparrings.

Hades entered in his neutral stance as he leveled his sword at his chest level after unsheathing it. His sword, also known as the blade of terror, is Hades' current main weapon, made of Stygian Iron, and secretly contains one of the keys of Hades.

The sword is enchanted to the point where only Hades and his children are capable to use the sword's powers to the fullest whereas someone else who is neither Hades himself nor a direct descendant of his, would only be able to use less than a 10% of its true powers and potential.

The sword's powers are very curious indeed and many wondered how Hades forged such a weapon by himself, Hephaestus included, but to this day he remained tight-lipped when questioned about it.

The sword it's known for boosting Hades' already existing powers over his domains, similar to his helm of darkness. Another ability it possesses is to summon Greek fire on the blade itself, something that surprised even Hephaestus himself when he came to learn of it.

The blade itself has also been enchanted to be near indestructible, something that many believed Hades had help from someone else as that level of enchanting is a type of arcane crafting that requires vast knowledge and experience of magic and runes.

But that it's not the reason why it is as respected and in some cases, feared just as much as his symbol of power. It is the simple reason that the blade's true power is for any injury inflicted by it, no matter how minor, will feel anything from ten to a hundred times more agonizing.

Not to mention the fact that whoever it cuts, it grants Hade's insight into that which troubles their soul beyond all else and allows him to torment their minds with it, it very well supplements his helm of darkness.

Because Hades already has his symbol of power, the helm of darkness, the power of the sword potentially tips the balance of power in Hades' favor over Perseus's master bolt or Poseidon's Trident.

Poseidon and Perseus also followed his example as they also got in their respective stances. It was at that moment that Perseus decided to shift the master bolt from its base form to its sword form, neither to say the other two Olympians were surprised at this, they carefully admire and analyze the sword's craftsmanship, and both unknowingly agreed that it well complements Perseus fighting style.

The air was tense, the three gods' bodies were rigid and ready to spring into action at the slightest movement of their respective opponents. The three Olympians felt their hearts beat stronger and faster against their chests as the seconds went by, the anticipation and excitement for the soon-to-be battle can be felt through their powerful bodies and godly blood.

No matter how many times they have done this, how much they always act civilized and noble, or how they always hold back against other weaker opponents.

The three of them were the strongest Olympian gods in Olympus, not only that but each of them represent and ruled over a realm and natural forces that make up and divide the world. Each of them is the physical manifestation of natural and unstoppable forces that they respectively rule over, this can't be truer when in their true divine form.

Because of what they each represent, it is an instinct for them to let loose of rationality and logic, to just let their domains freely flow through them, to wreak havoc across the world, to battle to their heart's content, but they weren't mindless beasts, as they knew very well the consequences of fully surrendering themselves to such urges, their mental control over their domains will break, and their respective domains will act and respond to their instincts and emotions, this will surely bring doom to part, if not half of the world, killing billions of mortals and other living beings.

And gods forbid if they were to totally lose themselves in their own urges. The three of them are always playing and dancing on a fine and thin line when partially letting their inner urges freely flow. But there's an old saying that justifies their reasoning and actions.

There is no gain without risks.

Perseus himself, as the youngest of the three and due to previously being a simple demigod, can admit that he has found it difficult to control and accept such urges, that it is something similar to how gods' personalities more often than not reflect their domains to better synchronized with them and finding a deeper and transcendent understanding and knowledge over said domains.

But it is here, where Perseus along with his uncle and father are capable of letting loose of their self-imposed shackles, and while they may not admit it out loud, they love it. They love the mere feeling that it brings within them because they are and always will be warriors in heart and soul first, then rulers.

Poseidon and Hades felt the urges ten times more than Perseus himself, they could feel it pumping through their blood and body, a result of being complacent and not taking much direct action for the past millennia except for the most recent wars, something that they have been compensating for the past weeks.

Poseidon's hands that were gripping his trident's shaft tightened even more before his left leg barely noticeable shifted, and as if a signal was given, all three rushed forward, the three running at a speed that slightly left after images behind them, the ground below their feet breaking apart. The moment they reached each other, their weapons clashed, and the world around them exploded.

The earth shook, the heavens stormed, and darkness fell upon the land as the three were locked into a power struggle outside of mortal comprehension, each of them pushing against the other two weapons, the earth below their feet shaking and consistently breaking as the crater that formed below them after the impact of their weapons became deeper and bigger as the seconds go by.

As the heavens themselves are crying in worry for their ruler and master, rain starts pouring, soaking the three of them, while also gusts of winds start screeching through the land, as angered and trying to show support to their master while thunder starts to fall from the skies, reflecting their ruler's mood.

On the other hand, the earth hasn't stopped shaking as the earthshaker used all his might into trying to win the strength contest, the seas and the oceans near Greece and farther are raging furiously, all mortals presently sailing through the angry waters desperately trying to exit them, but it proved to be very difficult and unfortunately, some of them will not make it past sunset, reminding them till their last moments and those that will luckily live to tell the tale, why the seas are and always will remain free and unconquerable.

On the other hand, Hades couldn't help but grunt as he, just like his brother and nephew, used all his strength to break the lock while simultaneously winning the strength contest, an unofficial rite of theirs as the beginning of all their spars.

But even though the oldest son of Kronos tried with all his might, he couldn't, because every time he makes any significant progress it is broken by either one of his two opponents, before the cycle would repeat itself.

And so with a growl, the shadows around him became alive as darkness engulfed his form and everything behind him while the darkness that engulfed the land previously by the raging storm and his own powers became ten times darker, with the sole light being the flashes of light from the thunders every time they fell from the skies and the light caused by Perseus's blade's own lightning.

Simultaneously all the darkest emotions and feelings such as misery, terror, rage, and the cold feeling of death started to manifest and roll off Hades in waves. In the underworld meanwhile, the dead and creatures that serve under Hades raged at sensing their ruler and master's present battle.

Indeed, this is where they can certainly let loose. This is where they belong, on the battlefield, and what better opponents than themselves, them, who are equals in every way to each other?

This is a battle between mighty gods, each a personification of unstoppable force. The three of them know that it will be difficult for one of them to win against the other two in a direct strength contest and battle of might when they are so painfully on equal grounds.

In the end, it will be the last one standing that will be considered the winner.
