Chapter 9: Chapter 9: A fight offer from the Champ?.
[In the morning]
Kuzaki had started his roadwork, always training for the Lightweight Championship, and now he's closer to that. He just needs another ranked opponent, then he set face the champ.
After the road work he did some stretches and went to help at the café, there he saw someone standing outside the café. So kazuki went and asked the mysterious person, what he was doing.
??: Those look delicious…
While looking at the snacks, the man said.
Kuzaki: Umm, excuse me, what are you doing here if you want something you can come inside.
The man turned and looked at me.
??: Ho… You're Kuzaki right, Ranked 13 in the lightweight division right now.
Kuzaki: Do you watch my matches…?
??: Yes, now I should introduce myself shouldn't I... I am the current Lightweight division champion Hamada Toru.
He looked about 6feet, compacted muscles just ready to box his opponent.
Kuzaki: Well… I thought you looked like him, be prepared champ, I will be coming to take it soon.
Hamada Toru: That's good... You have the spirit, I have to go now kid…
Just like I thought, carefree, But if he doesn't get serious he is going to get injured.
Slowly a smile comes across his face, like a dragon slowly closing on its prey.
[Meanwhile]
Hamada Toru: Kuzaki eh… He might be the toughest challenger I have yet to face.
Toru's coach: Where did you go, champ.
Hamada Toru: Nowhere, just had a roadblock…
(Hamada Toru didn't notice it, but there was a really creepy smile in his face).
Toru's coach: Why are you smiling like that…
Hamada Toru: Ho… It's nothing, come on, we have work to do.
[Back to Kuzaki].
Later in the afternoon I went to the gym did my workout, mitt hitting and went to do road work again. This was basically my daily routine, unless I have a match. Which is even more stressful, as I have to watch the tapes for any sort of punches they throw then plan out a strategy and make a counter for that punch... Sigh.
[A few days later]
Yagi: Coach, we have got an offer from the lightweight champion.
Coach: Who is it for, Yagi.
Yagi: Well, it's for Kuzaki...
Coach: Well, I see he caught the champ's eye...
I had just come back to the gym after my roadwork and coach called me to his office.
Coach: well, kid, you have got a fight offer.
Kuzaki: who is it?...
Coach: Well it's the champ, Hamada Toru...
Kuzaki: So a title fight, this soon.
(I didn't think, you'd do it this soon, champ.)
Coach: This is very early for you, so… Will you take it or not?
Kuzaki: I will.... Take it coach.
Coach: sigh... As I thought, but now you have to train really hard, kid.
Kuzaki: When's the fight?
Coach: You have got a month to train.
[Fight Date: July 27
Location: Kōrakuen Hall, Tokyo

Champion Hamada Toru vs Kuzaki R13].
The posters were already made in the first few days and put on walls for promotion.
Person1: Well, of course the champ's going to retain.
Person2: But what if....
Person3: What he's Ranked 13 in the division, how's he going to win.
Person4: but didn't he squash his last opponent.
Person1: true, but I think the champ's going to retain.
The coach said to conserve my energy as much as possible for the fight, so I am just going to watch his tapes and see for weaknesses. What are you going to do, when I will slowly Deconstruct you one by one take you apart in the ring in front of everyone.
Coach: Since a few days, the kid's been a bit different., just like his last fight.
(The coach was thinking while looking at kuzaki)
Kuzaki was just doing his shadow-boxing.
Coach: There's something strange about him.
(Coach said quietly)
Kuzaki: oh... Coach.
Coach: *ahem* You're doing good kid, I just wanted to ask you something, why did you want to box.
Kuzaki: Thank you coach, but... Sadly I don't know I just thought hey I want to box and here I am in front of you going against a champion.
(Kazuki said a bit ashamed, not having any ultra passion like ippo.)
Coach: Hmm... I see, very well, continue to train.
Kuzaki: Yes coach...
The next day in the morning when I went to the gym to spar only ippo was there, so I asked ippo, and he said okay.
[Ippo vs Kuzaki] {spar}
We both wore head guards and ippo rushed in like always and waited for kuzaki to throw a jab, but kuzaki just put his left hand out and made ippo focus on it, when suddenly a R. Hook went to the body at low power.
(Kuzaki-san's a really great boxer but I can beat him I just need one slip) Ippo thought while guarding.
Kuzaki just outboxed him as sparring, but ippo took it as a challenge and started throwing full power shot's.
(Yes I can beat Kuzaki-san, I just need one shot) ippo thought excited, also forgetting this a friendly spar.
(Ippo what the hell are you doing) Kuzaki thought while throwing a jab.Which ippo ducked and went for an uppercut but Kuzaki moves back, but ippo follows him and hit's Kuzaki with a full power R. Hook to the head. But Kuzaki and seen it in time to lessen the damage from the punch, but when ippo looked at Kuzaki he saw something which made him move back as in horror.
Ippo out of a daze rushed kazuki again, but got an R. short uppercut directly to the jaw, ippo wanted to get up but couldn't as his leg's gave out completely.
(come on, get up) ippo said in his mind. But his leg's couldn't.
After a few minutes, the coach and the others came.
Coach: What happened here?.
(Looking a bit angry)
Kuzaki: well you see...
After that Kuzaki said what had happened to the coach and other's listened.
Ippo: I am sorry Kuzaki-san, I got to into it.
Kuzaki: It's alright...
Takamura: That's the spirit. Haha,
Coach: okay come on, everyone back to your training now.
(So he was able to counter it in time, eh… Kuzaki you're turning into a monster every time you get something).
Coach: Thing's will be interesting, isn't that right, Yagi.
Yagi: Of course, coach…
