Chapter 86: Breaking Through

A gust of energy battered Markos's senses. His mind wavered, as he felt himself slipping back into the loop once more. He resisted, each breath felt like a spike was driven deeper between his eyes. He clung to Caelyn and Sintija's hands, their warmth and presence anchoring him to the present. 

Vladimars's voice echoed across the cavern, a harbinger of the pending loop where Markos's consciousness would fold over onto itself once more and take him back to a singular moment.

"Good news! I'm bringing the antidote over!"

Not again…

Waves of pain pulsed behind Markos's eyes. He clenched his teeth and focused on the threads of the Word that tethered him to reality. The sensations of his body were real. He fought against the presence hammering against his will. He did not want to repeat this moment yet again. 

We have too much to do already without retreading this moment. ENOUGH.
