Vladimars paused in his recollection of the lab, drawing in a long breath. His hand trembled as he stared beyond the flames at the distant horrors lingering in his memory. 

Caelyn's arm was wrapped protectively around Iliana, both were silent and sullen.

"It was worse than we all imagined." Iliana intoned softly in their minds, unwilling to break the silence in the cavern chamber. The fire crackled as they sought warmth from the chill that'd crawled don their spines.
