Cardan sucked Luciana's neck, burying his face in her blonde tresses as he breathed deeply, ''You have been avoiding me.'' 

''You deserve that,'' Luciana bit her lips to hold back the moan that was lingering near the back of her throat, her heart thudding faster as the man kept tightening his grip around her.

With the way Cardan was holding her, Luciana could feel something strange bubbling inside her heart. He was making her feel as if he had been thinking of her. The slight shakiness in his voice made her feel like he was afraid she would keep avoiding him. 

''Do I?" Cardan pulled back to look at her, eyes filled with indignance. 

Luciana nodded. 

''I deserve your dagger against my neck, Lucy. I do not deserve not having you in my arms,'' his voice was soft, almost like a whisper.
