Chapter 168: Fire

Adrian was determined to protect her but was he even aware of the fact that her world did not consist of humans anymore?

''I am surprised that she did your bidding,'' Cardan said as he strode towards her, ''But now that they are gone, it's time for us to leave too.'' 

He reached his hand towards her. 

Esme looked at him with narrowed eyes, the corners of her eyes were still red. 

''Touch my woman and I will destroy you.'' 

Cardan paused when he felt the cold tip of the sword pressed against his neck, the blade pressed harder on the man's neck and blood trailed down his chest but the man did not move. He stood rooted to his spot as he glanced at Aleister, who appeared out of nowhere, in shock and disbelief. 

Esme glanced at Aleister who appeared in front of her. The pain she was suppressing till this moment swelled up in her heart and tears rolled down her eyes. 

Aleister stiffened.
