Chapter 3- Taken off Guard

Destiny's POV
Today I decided she was not gonna get in my way. I needed a job and now, I don't know where but I have to try.
I got around to my usual routine, bathing, grooming my hair and searching through my trash clothes I owned.
The only good thing and most expensive things I had was that dress from yesterday. Looking at it against all my other clothes it just stood out.
I took it in my hands admiring it.I placed it on a hanger hanging it on my wall.
By the time I left I just started walking in the same direction I went yesterday.
Where to start again today?
"Excuse me..."I finally noticed the woman who I almost walked by.
Maybe I should have, it was that feisty cashier from yesterday.
"Before you walk away I owe you a huge apology for yesterday!"she smiled this time.
"Yea its fine"I tried to walk by her and she grabbed my shoulder.
"We could use your help..."she told me and I was glad to hear but I didn't show it.
"Yes?"I cocked a brow my arms crossed.
"Well, the day before yesterday our cashier said she had a family emergency and she wouldn't be showing for work. It then turns out she left for another job and I found that out yesterday morning..."she said to me.
"You see that's why I was upset, she just texted me right as I stepped into my shop saying 'better job opportunity, sorry' "she carried on.
"Oh..."I simply said.
"So we could use a cashier..."she gave me a questioning look.
"Yes, I'll gladly take it"I said before I could think of rephrasing it.
I look at it this way, it'll be earning me cash even if this girl was a bitch to me.
"Thank you so much, you can start tomorrow..."she said about to walk away.
"Can I start now?"I asked.
I couldn't miss a day, I wanted as much money as I could get.
"Uh...yes?"she told me.
"Just go down to the shop and ask the brunette to assist you..."she told me.
"Thank you so much... " was my reply and she nodded going in the opposite direction.
I took my time walking until the coffee shop came into sight. I walked up to the door pushing it only to see that nothing happened.
I then looked at the sign.It said 'sorry we are closed'. I placed both hands to the glass looking inside and I saw workers cleaning.
Two brunettes were there. Now to figure out which one. Before I could say anything the brunette closer to the door who's back was turned to me turned around a broom in hand.
"We are closed, you'll have to wait the next 10 minutes..."she spoke but the glass separating us made her voice very low.
"No No I'm not here to buy.."I started off.
"The curly hair red head sent me down here....
She said a cashier was needed...."I spoke up for myself gesturing to my hair when I spoke of hair.
She turned the key into the glass door pushing it open and I got in and she closed it.
"I'm Amera, let me show you around..."was what she said.
"Hey guys!Come meet our new cashier....
This is...?"she tried to introduce me.
"Destiny Rose"I said offering a little smile.
"Destiny Rose"she repeated my name.
A few persons said Hi. The tall hair brunette said nothing chewing her gum loudly.
"Let's go, let me show you around..."Amera guided me.
After she showed me around she gave me my uniform informing me that new comers only get one uniform.
She told me I'd earn another when I did three months here. That's if I don't get fired.
"So have a nice day,you start tomorrow..."she was leading the way towards the door.
"No, she said I could start now?"I asked rather than tell her.
"Somebody means business"she joked.
"You can go ahead then honey, remember if you need anything just say my name..."she told me walking off her shoulder length brunette hair bouncing.
I got to the cashier stand which was a really small space if you asked me. I didn't mind.
After a few hours pass I was already doing a good job. I glanced at the people drinking their coffee and cookies or their crackers or other pastry like things.
Ding.
I looked up. In walked the spoiled princess. I rolled my eyes internally sighing.
Was she stalking me?Can I not see her for a day?
She walked right up to me her eyes glued to the many riches that most likely resided in her purse.
"Usual Lola..."she said and I raised a brow.
Did I look like whoever the fuck Lola was?
"And what may that be?"I allowed it to come out dry.
She paused searching her purse to look up.
"Oh hey you!"she smiled and the rosy color came to her cheek.
It wasn't there before she saw me. I guess she was embarrassed at her stupidity.
"Dark coffee two sugars..."she told me.
I cashed it and she handed me the money and I resisted grabbing it.
I couldn't scare the customers away especially knowing my first day.
"Bb"the tall hair brunette spoke hugging the stalker in front of me.
"Hey Lexi"she said hugging her with one hand then pulling away.
"Here"I said slightly irritated handing her her receipt.
She took it shifting to the right to collect her coffee. Amera offered her a smile. I guess she was a regular here.
She collected her coffee sliding back over to me. She just stared at me and I was beginning to feel annoyed.
Before I could yell what at her she spoke.
"Will you join me for dinner tonight?"she asked and no one seemed to pay us any attention.
Why was she inviting me to dinner?
She did enough for me already.
"Why?"I questioned.
"You'd make my day..."she smiled slightly leaning on the counter.
"If I say yes will you leave me alone?"I asked her.
"I can't promise you that but maybe you might just see me a little less..."she replied.
"I'll consider..."I answerd andand I was thankful their weren't any customers coming in.
"Yes!Call me if..."she spoke and I could swear she just winked at me.
She left a card with a number, apparently hers as she walked out the door as if she was on the runaway.

I said my goodbyes to my new coworkers and exited the building only to walk into something.
That something was a person. I stared up into green eyes.
Not you again.
I took a step back rolling my eyes.
"So?"she asked excitedly.
I almost forgot about earlier today. I knew she'd keep bothering me if I said no and if I set yes there was a slight chance she'd leave me alone.
"Fine..."I rolled my eyes at her again.
"You aren't afraid of bikes right?"I was asked.
"Never been on one"I said to her.
"Hop on, you can hold me if you want..."she got onto her bike glancing back at me.
I got on a bit uncomfortable at how my thighs brushed the back of hers. I held onto the bike itself rather than her.
"Ready?"She glanced back at me.
"I guess"was what I told her.
We were jerked back then we accelerated forward. The ride was silent and I liked it that way.
We weren't friends.
When we got to her fancy house the security eyed ne in disgust and I ignored it.When we went inside and I followed her until we were in her dining room apparently.
The doors swing shut behind us the table filled with food. When she sat I sat directly in front of her.
What did she really want from me?
When she began eating I followed and I felt out of place due to the expensive surroundings.
"So...."her voice slightly sounded loud.
"I'm Febe Holloway, I'm 24 years old, I'm a model and I own a couple businesses..."she stared at me while eating after she said that.
"Oh..."was all I had to offer.
"Tell me a little about yourself..."she said.
"There's not much about me..."I admitted.
"I'm Destiny Rose, I'm 22 and I work at a coffee shop ..."that was all I could provide.
She shrugged.
"Well that's a start in getting to know you.."she spoke staring at me.
Getting to know me?
Why'd she want to do that?
We never spoke after that and then when dinner was over she convinced me to stay for a movie.
She allowed me to choose since I was her guest. I chose something I always wanted to see.
I chose a movie called the Tripple Ganger.I hope I made an excellent choice.
The movie was fine until the sex seen came in. This was weird watching with somebody who I didn't even consider a friend and someone I just met.
I wanted to ask her to next it but I was embarrassed to. I just sat there my eyes on the tv. I tried not to glance at her although I felt the need to because I felt like she was watching me.
The couple on the screen were already in the bed. The male who was on top wrapped his fist around the female's throat sucking on her breast.
She moaned arching her back as he released her neck lowering. He kissed her navel lowering between her thighs.
"Mhm..yes..."she began moaning and I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"Mhhmm!"she continued to moan a bit more dramatic and I felt uncomfortably hot.
A shadow began to cast my way and I finally turned to see what she was up to.
I was so shocked when I turned around that I froze. She was leaning in staring into my eyes.
I hope this isn't what I think it is. She was so close then I came to my senses.
I moved aside her lips crashing between the sofa and my arm.I rose from her sofa grabbing my purse panic filled as I ran outdoors.
The dogs barked but I cared not. I was terrified.
I ran to the gates and the security let me out no hesitation.
I ran all the way home and got there after about 15 minutes and when I got inside I was breathless. I closed the door leaning against it and it creeked.
What on earth just happened?

I am discouraged to write this book so don't be surprised if I stop writing.
