Chapter 63: On fire

Lilian walks with Prudence without letting even one bit of hatred surface on her face. "You seem to be favored by Vincent," Lilian said after checking her surrounding. As much as she wanted to show Prudence her place, she also had to be careful using Vincent's name. 

Prudence was lost in the thoughts as she turned to Lilian, "I don't think threatening is a part of being favored."

Lilian brought her fingers up to hide her mouth as she let out a giggle. Her cheekbones raised humbly, "Lady Prudence, that is his way of doing things. He is the Mafia king, after all. Vincent is used to getting many things by force." This was the first time Prudence actually noticed Lilian call out his name. Before she could ask about it, Lilian continued while keeping her eyes cast ahead, "When you are the king of a jungle where there are other lions, you love to show your power from time to time. It is not for your own sake, but so others know their place."
