Chapter 43: Unfinished dream

Vincent helped Prudence get out of the bathing tank. Her body was cold and freezing because of the temperature of the water. Prudence consciously turned her back to Vincent, as she had worn only a layer of a shirt over her petticoat. In the water, her mind was going blank and thinking about it now made her cheek fill up with the rush of blood to her face. 'How can I hang on to him like that! It was utterly shameless of me,' her thoughts spoke to her as she covered up her face. 

"Was that much enough to make you blush?" Vincent's voice beside her ear made her jump. 

Prudence bumped her back into him and immediately took her distance. When she turned, she saw his soaked clothes and the way that thin fabric of his shirt hugged him tightly. Prudence averted her gaze instantly, "H-his Grace-"
