Chapter 51: Demon in him

Luther really did hurt Torren as much as Torren hurt him. Or more so, Torren hurt him even more. Torren was kept away from the entire counsel. Mal and sir Magnus were the only ones who checked up on him in Edwin and Mara's company. Mara knew a bit of magic and she has been trying to figure out ways to help save Torren. Nobody else was permitted to go in there.

Kahlan was gradually getting over the shock from Owen's death. Even before she began to get over the shock, she never fell by the way side, especially in her duties towards me. She was still competent and encouraging. I knew she was hurting but it hardly affected her duties. She also gradually came back to being Kahlan my close friend. I could talk to her and she could talk to me. I walked into her room someday to talk to her.

As I came in, she was doing some research with some old library books. I knocked and let myself in.
