Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Tanner's Confession
We all sat down together and ate breakfast, Tanner still glared like an ass, I wish he’d stop but it’s whatever. After we finished breakfast we headed to the basement to watch movies, Landon pulled me into his lap when he sat down on the couch, Greyson sat on one side with Sasha on his lap and Tanner sat on the other side of Landon. He kept his little glares up, I chose ignore him as Natalia popped in Girls Trip, as the movie started Landon wrapped his arms around my waist, I leaned back into him and got comfortable. We all watched the movie once it started, laughing throughout most the movie, I even caught Tanner laughing, he never laughed like that, my heart was filled with confusion and laughter.
I was dating one of my bullies who changed, to find out he thought I was the prettiest girl in school to him, but his anger at his parents clouded it, broke him and turned him into a monster, things were going to be different Monday morning at school, I honestly didn’t want to go home on Sunday, I didn’t want to see Trevor’s face, I’d love to punch him right now, I hadn’t been to therapy in days, my phone begins to ring in my pocket, I excuse myself seeing it my therapist office,
“I have to take this, I’ll be right back.” I say to them as I get off Landon’s lap.
I walk upstairs answering my cell,
“Hello,” I close the basement door behind me, walking into the kitchen.
“Lucy, how are you ? Its been a few days, I needed to check on you,” my therapist replies.
“I’m okay, Trevor hurt me by sleeping with another girl, I’m now with Landon and he apologized for everything , I forgave him and he’s so sweet, I wish this was how it had been since day 1 for us, but I’m okay, I don’t want to die anymore, the bullying is officially over, Tanner can’t touch me anymore, he’s Landon’s best friend.” I say to her.
“Good, come down Monday after school? We’ll talk more, you go enjoy your time with your new boyfriend and your friends Okay?” she says to me.
I smile and reply, “Okay see you around 2:30 Monday afternoon.”
“See you then bye Lucy ,” She says.
“Bye,” I say then hang up.
I go back down to the basement, I sit back on Landon’s lap, his arms instantly going back around my waist, I placed my hands on his arms and leaned back against him and watched the rest of the movie. Once that was done, we put in Office Christmas Party. As we watched it, we all laughed, as it finished Natalia went upstairs and grabbed a bottle of liquor and some shot glasses.
She came back down and set them on the coffee table in front of the couch, then she looked at all of us,
“Let’s play truth or dare but with every truth you have to take a shot” she smiles.
I smile and look at her saying,” I’m down!”
Landon laughs, ” I’m in!”
Tanner nods, Grey smiles and nods saying, ” Let’s go!”
Sasha nods and says, ” Bring it on!”
Natalia laughs, ” Okay, I’ll start Landon, truth or dare?”
Landon looks at her, “Dare.”
Natalia thinks, “I dare you to, Pretend like you’re in a Toyota commercial. Sing, “I love what you do for me, TOYOTA!” and jump into the air.”
Landon looks at her, I get off his lap letting him get up, he stands up and begins to act out the link part,
“I love what you do for me TOYOTA!” Landon sings, jumping into the air, like in the commercial.
We all bust out laughing, as does Landon, after we gather ourselves, Landon looks at me,
“Truth or dare babe?” He asks.
“Dare,” I say probably going to regret it, but hey take chances right?
He looks at me, slightly surprised, ” I dare you to, tell Tanner what Trevor did,” he smiles.
“Um, okay?” I say, walking towards Tanner , I stop a few feet from him.
“He fucked Macy.” I say, looking at him, trying to read his face, he looked pissed, his eyes were filled with more anger than I’d ever seen from Tanner, he literally made me cringe.
I turned away, Tanner grabbed my arm,
“Don’t Lucy, I’m sorry, I’ve treated you so horribly, I have a lot to work on, first step is to confess to you, I am in a broken home, my dad beats my mom and me if I step in, I’m so angry all the time, I’m hurting and want to hurt, you were so easy and pretty, it hurt to hurt you but also really helped, I know it’s sick I’m sorry, I won’t feel like this forever, I told out things on you I shouldn’t have.” He looks at me with a serious look, I believe him.
“Okay,” I say, I’m still trying to piece together his words.
He still holds my arm, “I really like you Lucy, I always have, I just fucked up worse than Landon and Grayson. You don’t have to forgive me Lucy, but I’ll never hurt you again, I promise I know you might not trust me, but your with Landon, I’m not going to lose him over my pain and hope I deal with it.”
I nod, “Alright, Tanner ” I look over at Landon for a moment then back at Tanner.
“I wanted to ask you out so many times, I had it planned in my head, then anger changed it,” He says to me, ” I’m so sorry I really am.”
I just look at him speechless, Landon walks over to us, putting his arm around my waist and looking at Tanner,
“You never told your best friends your feelings for a girl you all hurt, even though we both told you ours?” Landon asks him.
“I didn’t know how to the anger consumed me,” Tanner says then sits back, “Let’s keep playing please I’m done that’s all.”
I look at Sasha and say, “Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” Sasha says as Natalia pours a shot.
“Who was your first kiss?” I ask.
“Gavin, that dude that hit on me all of freshman year, we kissed in a corner near the gym.” She takes her shot.
“Truth or dare, Tanner.” She says.
“Dare,” he says.
“I dare you too, magic Mike Natalia,” she smiles evilly.
Tanner looks at her then Natalia, Natalia blushes,
“Whoa now,” Natalia says then smiles still red, “Okay I’m ready.”
She pulls a chair up and sits in it, we put on a song, Tanner begins to magic Mike and then lap dances on Natalia. Natalia smiles, and stares at his abs, she was enjoying him a bit to much, maybe she liked him, I wanted us all happy, he was doing a good magic Mike impression. As he finishes, Tanner looks at Natalia,
“Truth or dare Nat?” He asks putting his clothes back on.
Natalia looks at him, “Truth,” she pours herself a shot.
“Do you have any type of feelings for me?” He asks.
She sighs,“Yes, since I met you, I’ve always thought you were good looking, but you were abusing my best friend, so I kept my thoughts to myself.” She downed her shot.
Natalia looks at Greyson, “Truth or Dare Greyson?”
“Dare,” he says.
“I dare you to, run outside in only your boxers, and scream I love Sasha!! Then run back into the house.” She replies with a smirk.
I begin laughing with everyone else, until we stop and Greyson replies,
“Fine.” He strip’s to his boxers and takes off upstairs we follow, and he runs out the front door, yells,
“I LOVE SASHA!” then runs back into the house.
We’re all laughing our asses off, I’m holding onto the island cracking up, that was funny. He was so quick about it to, it was like damn! He was laughing as well, until he finally stopped and got dressed again. We headed downstairs to go drink and watch Grey’s, the boys liked it too surprisingly. We took shots and drank, us ladies crying during certain parts, Landon would hold me close, rubbing my back, he knew it was normal for girls to cry over Grey’s episode’s.
We got drunk and kept watching Grey’s, until we all fell asleep, we slept off the liquor waking up in the morning, it was Sunday, Landon looked at me,
“Let’s get you some clothes from home, then come stay with me, I’ll bring you to school.” He kisses me softly, “My dad wouldn’t care.”
I smile, “Maybe, I’d have to see,” I kiss back.
He hugs me and we grab my things and head out saying our goodbyes. We get into Landon’s truck, buckling up, he drives me home, we get out and go into my house, I go upstairs to my brothers room, knocking on Steve then David’s door. I wait for them both to answer, when they do half awake they see Landon, they see me, I say,
“I am wondering if I could just go stay with Landon for awhile, Trevor really hurt me Friday, I can’t stand to see his face, I need space from him besides being stuck in school with him 3 classes a day, I can avoid him the rest of the time.”
They look at me, they see the pain of talking about it, they see the hurt and betrayal in my eyes, they see it all, they pull me into them hugging me at the same time.
David speaks first, “Yes, as long as you don’t try to kill yourself again.”
I nod, “I won’t, Landon won’t hurt me again.”
Steve nods, “Okay sis,” he looks at Landon.
“I won’t let her take a razor or anything else to her again, she’s in my care, I’ll never lay a hand on her in a bad way again, I promise your sister is in good care, I’m better, I used to have problems, I’m working through them.” Landon says.
“Please keep that promise.” David says, Steve nods.
Landon nods and says, “I will.”
I walk off leaving them to talk, I pack a duffle bag of stuff, I come out 5 minutes later,
“I’m ready, let’s go Trevor’s family is going to be home soon, I don’t want to see him right now.” I say go Landon.
They all nod, my bothers hug me goodbye, Landon takes my bag from me carrying it, taking my hand, we leave, get in his truck, and he drives to his house. He parks we get out, grabbing my duffle bag and backpack , we go into his house, walking up to his room, he father was asleep on the couch. We went into his room, he set my things down ,
“Half the closet is yours as well as the bottom two drawers on each dresser,” Landon says with a smile.
“Thanks babe,” I say and unpack my stuff, I turn around as he locks his door.
He smiles and walks over to me, “Welcome to being my girl, I promise you nothing but love and if I get mad I’ll walk away to calm down they come back. I want us to last, I love you truly do Lucy,” he kisses me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I wrap my arms around his neck, kissing back, he picks me up and brings me over to the bed and things happen, we part breathing heavy. We get dressed and go shower, coming back getting into PJs and laying down to watch some TV.
After a few hours I fall asleep, so does Landon. We sleep until morning.
