Chapter 59: what he wants

"IN TWO DAYS, AUBREY." The smile doesn't leave his pale face. "Your wish will be granted. Just wait patiently for the invitation. You are finally coming to Groom vine street." He pauses, shooting her a pleased smile. "But it's not for the toaster."

And he is gone.

She hears a pained grunt from below her and she sees Brady struggling to get up. He sits up, rubbing the back of his head gently, having fallen on it when he finished cutting the bracelet. He looks around the kitchen before a look of disgust takes over his face.

"Ew. Why am I on the floor?" He quickly gets up, dusting himself.

His hair is rough and sticking out in several places from their fight. Aubrey can't help but to stare numbly at him.

He looks at his sister's displaced reaction. "What's wrong?" He asks her then he looks round the house once more with a freaked-out expression, "When did I get home. What the f—"
