Chapter 2: Chapter 2 THE TROLL

"Once this was somewhere where freedom reigns true

For heroes to write their epic, for their adventures to be seen

A place for enigmatic creatures to reside

Mysterious yet dangerous

Well, how I wish it was real

Wishing to be away from reality at times

And to make believe that such a place exists

Not most of the time but sometime

It's real when I slumber and when I imagine it to be"

One day, when then girl's quill was wet with ink and her mind was full of inspiration. She was writing words as beautiful as carnation on the black notebook she called her diary. She felt the rhythm flow within her like creamy dairy. But suddenly, quite unintentional, she thought of an answer to her problem quite rational.

Near the valley in which she always wrote, stood a forest with its' lush green coat, covered by a mist of black gray mote. Within the forest lived a troll. A troll so big and scary, but I wouldn't say he was hairy. One might say that his skin was wood. But that's just the color of a troll's skin should. His hair was long and green like leaves. His face was horrendous that he scared thieves. His body slender and thin but he stood like a strong firm grin. One might say that he was as lonely as he could. But in truth was, he was just misunderstood.

Now this troll had a certain quirk. He doesn't like pillaging, or murdering, or scaring, or even fishing for herring. This troll liked to write stories. He tells the wind his tales and lets him speak it to everyone but the ones who actually listened was less than none.

Or so he thought.

For every story that he wrote, the little girl heard of and criticized the bloke. Although the girl not impressed by his way of storytelling, she liked the way of his stories are somewhat quelling. And even though this girl always forgets her own memories every day, the stories that the troll wrote disappeared nay. And at this she realized and said,

"If I can't remember it if I write it, then I shall have the troll read my story so I can piece together my memory."

At the break of the next dawn she walked. Towards the forest that she long stalked. From afar, the trees' hollow stare, could send spines to shiver everywhere.

But the girl's determination cannot be tamed. Even by the scorching sun, ravaging winds, or spiky earth for the truth of her life she aimed.

She walked and walked for hours on end. She walked longer than anyone could comprehend.

At the gaping mouth of the forest she finally stood. Hoping to find the troll that would lift her blinding hood. Entering what was unknown, it was heard. A melody. A singing. A lullaby that was endlessly ringing. A chilling melancholy of happiness and despair. The words I wrote here so beware.

"One that seeks cannot be found

For what you see is but a sound

One's true nature can only be seen

By peering into the deep eyes of Sin

In the clutches of fear you may lie,

But your heart cannot when it decides to cry"

At once she felt unease, as the thumping of her heart would not cease. But she made it that far without a dread, so onwards the forest she had tread. Not knowing of what fate has to come. The story has finally begun.
