Chapter 4: The joys of pain

Xin Feng was absorbing the spiritual energy from the chicken feces…

After every hour or so, Xin Feng would have to stop cultivating in order to remove the dry feces that had become as hard as dry clay. As time passed, there were changes made to his body. These changes became very obvious at the end of the day, especially after all of the notifications that he had received and after he had checked himself through the reflection of a nearby puddle of piss and water.

At the first notification, Xin Feng had received his lower Qi crystal. This crystal gives him the ability to refine the surrounding spiritual energy into his own spiritual energy, which will then be stored in this very same crystal.

For the notification, he had received his upper Qi crystal, which gives him the ability to control his own spiritual energy, also known as Qi.

Lastly, at the final notification, he received his middle Qi crystal, which gives him the ability to release the stored Qi from his body.

With some use of his intelligence and the faint knowledge that he has over immortal cultivation, thanks to the few eastern fantasy novels that he had written on earth, he was able to understand how to make use of the Qi that he released out of his body. He had become an immortal cultivator…

Xin Feng let out a breath when he saw his wonderful accomplishments. Proud of such accomplishments, he went and lay on the ground drowsily, as he stretched his legs to get rid of the fatigue from sitting cross-legged for more than ten hours.

It was around two in the morning when he was done with everything, hence the reason why he felt the need to sleep…

Of course, not forgetting to wash himself regularly after a dirty task, he first went and washed the crumbles of dry scentless feces away at a nearby pond before going back to his sad looking four cubic meters hut that doesn't even have a door.

'Oh! They left some food for me on the table… What a great time to eat! I hope they didn't look for me…' *Sigh*

The night passed, and the morning came…

*Splash* All of a sudden, a great amount of water was thrown at Xin Feng's face while he was still asleep.

"Wakey wakey! How are your injuries my dear dummy? I heard from the guards that you weren't home last night… Has the pharmacy medicines improved, perhaps?"

"Ah-haha… Since young mistress said that she would sell the animals, I felt like I had to say my goodbyes to them." Xin Feng replied with a slight tone of embarrassment while he wiped the water off of his face. He did not want to cause a troublesome and loud conversation…

"Tch!" The young mistress clicked her tongue.

"Since you look so energetic already, follow me!" The young mistress said, right after clicking her tongue out of spite.

Xin Feng was brought to enter the courtyard of her manor. A courtyard that was probably more than fifty cubic meters big…

"Oh-ho-ho! Is this the servant that you had mentioned about?" A brown-haired girl who was walking near her friend said with a sadistic smile.

After her, another girl who had very long silky black hair, gestured towards Xin Feng's clothes with a tone of joy.

"Remove your clothes brat!" She demanded of him, as she gestured.

"Do as your told, slave." The young mistress looked at her friends with a smile, before looking back to Xin Feng to tell him to do whatever her friends requested.

'Of course, I will.' Xin Feng thought as he removed his clothes, while showing a bit of reluctance to let the girls take pleasure in punishing him.

This show of reluctance wasn't an act. He really didn't want to be disrespected and trampled on by the little girls in front of him, but would have let that happen anyway, since he knew better that temporary pain and dishonor would be the only way for him to return home.

'Oh… There's no single scar?' The young mistress pondered in confusion and surprise when she saw how smooth the skin of Xin Feng had become. Before she could ponder about it however, the black-haired friend of hers interrupted her thoughts.

"Let me go first!" Was the girl's words that had caught the mistress's attention.

After the girl had said her words, she initiated her attack, just like she had declared.

"Three subduing palms!"

The black-haired girl pushed her palm towards Xin Feng's chest as she yelled out the name of her attack, just like any typical cultivation story NPC. The moment her palm came in contact with Xin Feng's chest, two images of half-transparent yellow palms appeared beside her palm, which generated enough force to throw Xin Feng a couple meters way. A supposed little girl who is no older than thirteen had manage to send the body of a supposed seventeen year old flying…

*Cough* *Cough* Xin Feng coughed some blood as he tried to support himself on the ground after being sent flying.

This pained feeling quickly disappeared however, as a feeling of power replaced it instead. As a result of being able to feel the thrill of becoming stronger through pain, a slight hidden grin appeared on Xin Feng's face.

"Hey! No fair! Look how injured he is now!" The short brown-haired girl complained while pouting.

'Really? You guys are fighting over something so silly? Good for me I guess…' Xin Feng thought with a smile inside his head.

While the girls complained, the young mistress went to check on his injuries, as she passionately muttered, "Are you okay?"

*Cough* "Don't worry, this is nothing but a scratch." Xin Feng replied, wondering if the young mistress had some soft spot in her.

"This humble one shall experience your profound techniques" *Cough* He continued, speaking like a brave soldier as he acted like he was struggling to stand up.

"If you say so! Haha!"

'Well... It seems that she's really just a b*tch. What soft spot?'

"Myriad floating skips – Kick!"

As soon as the young mistress finished shouting the name of her move, she began to jump from left to right in a zig-zag manner. Her jumps looked so graceful yet so aggressive, and at the same time, it also left a mirage of herself behind.

Approaching the left side of Xin Feng, already closing in on him, she then made another jump by proceeding to his right. This was her final jump, because halfway, she quickly rotated her body to finish her skill with a 360 degrees kick.

'Isn't this a bit too slow and predictable for a cultivation technique?' *Sigh* 'Whatever, I'll just accept it.'

The kick that had a mirage of itself behind it, finally managed to touch Xin Feng's head after a few long seconds. In the end, Xin Feng was sent flying a few meters away and to the ground, paralyzed…

"Hehe! Your big sis is truly the strongest! Am I not?" She asked her two friends with her head high up and her eyes closed, while occasionally peaking to see their reaction.

"Tch!" The other girls clicked.

*Gasp* "What are you all doing?!" The voice of a horrified person was suddenly heard.

"Xin Ling! Even though he's the son of another mother, he's still your brother!" The stranger kept on shouting with an endless amount of rage.

"How dare you not keep your words! You told your father that you would look after him and give him a place to live his mortal life peacefully. But what do I see here?! A bunch of cowards picking on a defenseless mortal! What makes things worse, is that the same coward is this person's younger sister!"

"How brazen!" The stranger lashed out furiously.

The stranger rushed towards Xin Feng to check on his injuries, and when she saw the terrifying injuries that they had given him, her rage got immeasurable. Soon, her Profound peak stage three aura started surrounding the area, making the three girls gulp in fear.

*Roar* The stranger roared with the roar of a bear mixed within.

There was a 5 meters long half-transparent purple bear floating behind her back, roaring together with her. Her arms that were spread out were brought back together, and at the same time she brought her arms back, the bear phased through her to chase after the three frightened girls.

When the bear was a few meters close to them, it clawed her paws on the ground before drifting in front of them, leaving a shock-wave behind. As a result, the three girls were easily sent back flying, as they spurted a mouthful of blood while they were still in the air.

Meanwhile, Xin Feng was still lying on the ground with his chest and head dropping blood, his neck still stiff… He couldn't really hear what was going on, since he was kicked near his ear. His vision was also quite a bit blurry. In order for his body to recover faster for it to not be disabled, his brain would have to focus its power on the most important tasks…

As Xin Feng's vision was starting to get more blurry and his hearing more mute, he saw a fairy like being approaching him with concern in her eyes. With a charming soft and mature voice, she said, "Hang on, you'll be al-"
