Chapter 18: He Saw Her, She Heard Him

Ben felt miserable the whole weekend. He could not stop pacing around the house. Jin Hee tried not to mind him, but she had seen him in this pitiful state only twice in the whole time that they were together. First was when his father turned critical following a complicated surgery, only to pass away after a few days. The second time was when she was wheeled in for an emergency Caesarian procedure to have their daughter delivered. She almost went into Eclampsia when she started having birthing contractions. Due to an alarming increase in her blood pressure, the doctors decided to perform the procedure to save both mother and child.

And now, she saw the same look in his eyes, and it both confused and pained her. He seemed just to be pretending to listen to the conversations around him. He was not with them, so where was he?
