Chapter 4: PLOT-HOLE
The car with Arjun reached the Mansion, a bungalow on the outskirts of Pune. It was massive, lit of lights all over with few cars parked outside and some 10 men in black suit guarding the place, they weren't muscular, just normal men.
The car stopped as Nikhil and Arjun hopped out. They walked inside, it had a huge hall in the middle with rooms on both side and two staircases for upper floors.
A guy walked down the staircase on left with a mid-partition haircut, wearing shorts and a grey t-shirt, nearly 6 feet tall.
"Welcome to the Mansion!" Nikhil said.
"Myself Rahul, Rahul Bhairav." The guy walked down as he shook Arjun's hand. He was very good looking indeed.
"Yeah, alright. Where are my parents?" Arjun asked.
"They are on our second base; Mr. Narayan Rao is there with him." He replied.
"And who is Mr. Narayan Rao supposed to be?" Arjun asked.
"My teacher."
"And the head of whatever is happening?"
"Oh no, I am the head of this entire operation. You will understand everything soon, have your meal and sleep first."
"I'm hungry too, lets head to the dining hall." Nikhil said.
Some other building in Pune, the car with Leela and ladies arrive, the same scenario and an old man standing outside the gate waiting for them. He was in his late 60s, with greyish hairs and shaved beard, and classy grey suit.
"I am Narayan Rao; your husband is waiting inside." He said.
Sunita nodded as they moved inside the building. In front of them was a porch with a lift on left side and multiple doors on their right.
"Follow me." Leela said as she walked across the porch into a hall.
Sitting there was Keshav Bhairav, Arjun's father, Suntia and Mihika rushed to hug him as he said, "Is everyone alright?" he was very worried. "Where is Arjun?"
"He is on another base, safe. Do not worry about him, he is fine." Mr. Narayan Rao said.
"What is happening and why are we here?" Keshav asked.
"You will understand everything, for now, have your meals and sleep in the rooms allotted."
"What is happening?" Arjun asked raising his voice.
"You are in trouble, serious one, and only we can help you!" Rahul replied.
"What is this trouble?" Arjun asked.
"We are going to explain the entire thing tomorrow morning, for now just sleep!" Nikhil added.
Arjun sighed as they headed for the dining hall.
"I told you! We can't see them now!" one of the blood demons groaned as all the members from earlier kept watching over the Mansion.
"What do you think they can do? Let the Blood Moon arrive, they won't survive!" the general replied.
That night was the longest one for Arjun, he couldn't fall sleep and kept thinking as he heard some metal noises from outside his room, his room was spacious. He walked out to see, and found large cartons being moved across the place by the men.
He walked down the first floor and saw Rahul and Nikhil chatting.
"You are awake!" Nikhil exclaimed as he saw Arjun.
"It is only 4 in the morning, you should've slept!" Rahul said.
"I couldn't sleep. Now what is all this?" Arjun asked.
"Arms, weapons, things can get ugly here." Rahul said.
"What do you mean?"
"I think we should tell him; we don't have too long!" Nikhil added.
"Yep, I think so. So have a seat kid, we need to chat." Rahul said.
The three of them moved to a room on their right. It had a projector, a laptop and a table with few chairs, it looked like a conference room.
Nikhil and Arjun had seats opposite to each other as Rahul presented his thing.
"I was 17, when my family was slaughtered." He said as a photo of Rahul's family showed up on the projector. It was a joint family. "You will be surprised to discover who killed them!"
"Who?" Arjun asked.
"The Blood Demons, the one your mother saw on the flight."
"What?"
"I was a kid just like you, and when I witnessed them kill my family I decided to go deeper, I discovered an entire world of spirits and demons and ghosts and monsters. Then I went on to decoded why they killed my family." Rahul said as some pictures and illustrations of monsters and demons flashed on the projector screen. "In the hunt, I discovered that every 9 years, a Bhairav family went missing, just missing in thin air. And this record was from previous 45 years. It wasn't a hard thing to realize that something was up."
"So what is it exactly, and do you think that they are coming for my family now?" Arjun was tensed.
"Yes, they are. They are breaking your family, by breaking you, you are already in a bad place mentally, they are using it as a leverage and breaking your family, making it easier for them to kill." Rahul said as Arjun sat their confused. "A family is like a circuit, you need to break the circuit to kill light of the bulb. They are breaking you, and once they remove you, your family is vulnerable to them."
"Whoa, but why?" Arjun was worried.
"It's in the name! Bhairav! There is something out ancestors did, and we are the ones that are paying." Rahul explained.
"What did our ancestor do?"
"After my family was killed in 2012, I went to decode it. Turns out, our ancestors ruled India, between 600 BC and 500 AD. Apparently there is no mention of the Bhairav kingdom in history." Rahul said.
"Do you mean that the history is erased?" Arjun exclaimed.
"Precisely, we do not know when the dynasty was born all we know is that the Usars attacked in 600 BC from north-west, things were bad but Bhairavs didn't fall. And finally the dynasty died in 500 AD, 120 years after Usars fell."
"That makes no sense."
"I know, King Adinath ruled in 600 BC with three sons, then we know nothing! There is no mention of Bhairavs in the Usar history, so basically, we are at a visible plot hole."
"Plot hole being what the kings did in the time which is erased from world history?" Arjun said.
"Yes and we need you to find out what happened so that we can works things and see if we can figure out a way."
"And how are we going to do it?"
"You are going to exorcise some spirits and boost your Pectus power. Once we do that, you can see inside your bloodline because you are a Bhairav offspring."
"Aren't you one?"
"I am but I had some complications, I will tell you later on."
"So I need to fight some spirits and ghosts and what not!"
"Yes." Nikhil added.
Arjun held his head as he started sweating and panting.
It was morning 8 am when Arjun's family was made aware of the situation and told that Arjun will be doing some extra-human work.
The family was safe at the base, it was Rao's infrastructure, he traded exorcism weapons and trained people.
Somewhere in Mumbai in a café, a guy in his thirties is sitting wearing round spectacles, maintained hair, fair skin tone and a proper beard. Another guy in a casual jacket sits in front of him holding a coffee cup and says,"I got something for you."
"You better, I am not gonna pay you for nothing this time!"
"Yeah, chill out." The another guy said as he slipped the guy a photo of Nikhil and Arjun in a black car.
"Where are they?"
"Pune."
"Where in Pune?"
"I am working on that."
"Ok, satisfactory work." The guys said as he pulled out an envelope from his pocket, filled with some cash and slipped it to the second guy, and the second guy leaves as the guy with beard takes a sip from his cup.
