Chapter 2- Be my servant
"Why am I here?"
From the moment I first opened my eyes, This was a question that had been playing inside my heart. At first, I guessed that I was about to be dropped into another world with some cheats.
But, If that really was the case then why show me what happened in the past? Wouldn't it be better to just say "Oh, You died. Now I will give you some cheats to reincarnate into another world."
That would've been a way better thing to do if he wanted to just reincarnate me somewhere else. Since I had been comparing the situation to Isekai Animes, Deliberately bringing up my family and making me realize the gravity of the situation.
It's really inefficient from the God's perspective.
Why deliberately make me realize things that usually would've been glossed over in Isekai Animes.

The God probably read my mind. But knowing that he was reading my mind wasn't what I wanted to know right now.
"Yes, I am quick on the uptake. So, please answer my question."
God didn't say anything this time but instead sat down on a chair that magically appeared out of nowhere. At the same time, A chair appeared behind me so I also sat down.
After seeing that I was sitting properly, The God looked at me with a serious expression on his handsome face and said.
"Shin, I can't say the reason for your death, But just know that You are an anomaly. Maybe it has to do with the fact with your cause of death or maybe it is completely unrelated to this. All in all, Your soul is special."
I carefully began to listen to each and every word without disturbing him.
"The concept of souls is something that You wouldn't understand no matter how much I simplify it. Just know that Your soul is something that shouldn't be like how it is. It is doing things that it isn't supposed to be doing. And that is what makes it special."
I couldn't respond properly so I just nodded before asking.
"Now, What does that have to do with me being here?"
"Everything. Usually, a dead soul would have been sent to be judged by the God of Death's servants. After the judgment, Things like reincarnation blah and blah."
The god seemed a bit annoyed at the name 'God of Death'.
"But, The thing with your soul is that It can't be reincarnated easily. Or rather, It's no use to reincarnate your soul. Actually,"

The God suddenly stopped talking and the scene changed again. I was now sitting on air but what greeted me was the sight of various figures lined up.
Black Wings. Horns. Fangs. Black eyes. Large and ferocious-looking bodies. Hair with colors ranging from red to green.
There were hundreds no maybe thousands of these figures. And all of them looked ready to rip apart anybody on their way.
"The ones you see in front of you are demons. This is a replicated image of what a small army of lower-class demons would look like."
"You call them low-class?"
I sucked in cold air and again looked at these supposedly "Low-class" demons who look more terrifying than any demon king I had ever seen from animes.
"Stop comparing everything to Anime."
The God spoke as the scene changed again and we were back in the same white room.
I looked at the God before saying,
"So, What do demons have to do with this?"
"A lot actually. The reason why you reincarnating would be useless is because they will kill you."
"..."
Ok, now that took a quick turn.
"Your soul is special. To me, it's not the greatest thing but to other Gods and mostly to demons, You are like a diamond."
"Shin, I know that you don't realize it But just beware not to sell yourself to other gods in the future."
"...And Why would I sell myself?"
"Because You are a dumb mortal."
"..."
Let's not argue.
"Yes, let's not argue. Anyways, Since your soul has so much value, Gods want you. Meanwhile, Demons also want you but... They want you to they can kill you."
I began comprehending everything with a deep look but I couldn't help but say,
"Ok, So I am basically like a beautiful princess that many strong warriors are fighting to win the heart of?"
The god stopped speaking and looked at me as if he was looking at a dumb idiot and spoke,
"No, You are basically a dumb idiot that had a diamond sealed inside his heart, and many strong but greedy warriors are fighting to win you to rip your heart out to take the diamond."
"..."
I looked at the God's eyes before thinking,
Ok, I will shut up.
The God nodded this time and said,
"Since Gods and Demons are after you, You are basically a dead kid. No matter how many times you reincarnate, some demon will come and pick your soul away. Or, some shady god will come to you and trick your moral brain into selling yourself away."
The situation that the God described was serious but, I couldn't help but notice that some shady god has come to me and told me an interesting story-
"..."
This time the God went silent.
Wow, Maybe he realized that He was contradicting himself.
"Ok, It's good that you understand."
Wow, He is totally pretending that nothing happened.
"..."
"..."
*Sighs*
The God sighed as if he was admitting defeat.
"Ok, yes. I admit it. I lose you win. You aren't a dumb mortal anymore."
I didn't say anything and just nodded.
In fact, There was a reason I was joking at this moment.
Maybe I am being too pretentious by thinking like this but Maybe I and this God would've been friends in any other situation.
You know, another situation where he doesn't inform me that I am dead and Me Living another life has no meaning since I have so many unconditional enemies that I will just die no matter what.
And, Jokes aside, There was a reason why I could trust this God. It was pretty simple. If I really had something special about me, Then there is no reason for this God to do this much if he just wanted to somehow trick me.
He could just say 'You died pretty young. I am bored so I will reincarnate you with cheats.' Knowing me, I would've 100% fallen for that trap and done anything he said.
"Done with the monologue?"
The God spoke after I finished thinking,
"Yes, I am done... Now what?"
The God understood what I was implying as he smiled lightly before saying.
"Do you want to not be killed by demons or not be tricked by shady gods?"
"Yes."
"Hehe, Simple.
Then be my servant."
