~~~(POV: Scott)~~~
Getting off Heroor isn't going to be hard, but I'd rather not share my tiny pilot's compartment with Durado. I know for a fact there aren't any ships left other than mine, and the reason I'm going to the control room is to check something.
The designs of the ruins are actually that of a base or structure. They're for a ship. This entire structure has the designs of a ship, and I want to see if there is any way to make it more than what it is, cause if we're going to Gord-Prime. We need the firepower this structure provides.
Durado is quieter than I'd expect him to be in this situation. He's likely disappointed that he couldn't find anything about his daughter. "Is there anything you want to talk about?" We're walking side by side, and I'm an inch or so taller than him, so there isn't that big of a difference.
He lowers his hat and stays quiet. "I'm not going to push you to talk... You'll be ready when you're ready." I can respect the man and his desire to keep quiet. Dealing with it on his own is his way of coping, in a manner of speaking.
He sighs and looks ahead as we're getting closer to a door. This is the place where we're going to need to deal with some of the personnel still alive. Larzacks is going to be the biggest problem. "Let's just get what we need done and get off this planet..." I can sympathize.
I don't even know if I can get the ship to work. It's been here for hundreds of millions of years. I didn't find any flaws or broken pieces when my mind dismantled everything. This is Primordium tech, though. There is the chance that not even I can get it to work.
I pull Little Boy out of my holster, and I look at Durado and nod my head as we're right outside the door. "Eliminate any threats that show themselves, and if you feel like killing in there, I'm not going to stop you. I understand if you need to blow off some steam. These people aren't good people."
Anyone willing to work for Teller-Bravo has got some serious skeletons in their closest. He nods his head, and I use the panel to the door, and it opens. Everyone turns to us, and we raise out blasters. Everyone's hands fly up in surrender.
Larzacks is the only one to refuse any sort of action that gives off weakness. "Identify yourselves! This is a private installation, and you have no authority to be here!" He's quick on the uptake about we're not from around here.
I point my blaster directly at him, and I can see no fear of death. "You dare point that at me? You have any idea who you're talking to?" I know everything about you, Larzacks. But you don't need to know that. I walk up to him, and I smack the butt of my blaster against the back of his head.
He keels over and clutches the spot, but he's not knocked out. "Stay quiet. I don't want any interruptions." I'll say I'm a little surprised that Durado hasn't killed anyone yet, but it's still early. In a sense. I walk over to the main console, and I immediately gain access to everything.
Many scientists start questioning me, and others watch as I work at an unseen level before. I gain access to the part that I need. Sadly, the ship requires a master key code. I rack my brain as I create one based on the information I've gathered about the site.
After a minute, I figure out some possibilities and start inputting them one after another. Eventually, I find the right one, and the structure hums to life and begins to shift. "Looks like we don't have to share a single seat after all... Let me grab my ship..." I use the tractor beam that's a part of the ship.
Placing Autumn's Fall in the onboard hanger. "Now we have the firepower for the next target." Durado nods his head in approval. I get a notification from the system, but I'm too busy learning how to fly the ship with all the data it's spewing at me.
