I finish answering any questions Jess has, and I see the store that Pleiknore and Meiklare own up ahead. She follows me up to the door, and we enter the store. Players are browsing around and looking for ships that suit their tastes.
I look at Jess and see her amazement at the designs. While I can point out many small flaws in the ships, I won't. I don't want to bore her with the technical mumbo jumbo. "I didn't realize there were so many different choices!" She has a burst of energy and runs to a pitch-black starship.
I look at it and see that it's an Aegis ship. It has advanced stealth technology and is rather well built. I can see where improvements can be made. "This is a ship made by Aegis. They are very powerful in the starship production industry. This particular model is a BlackKat 11. It's made for advanced dogfighting and has several upper hands in terms of technology. The price going for this is 450 million credits." I see the hollow look in her eyes as I tell her the price tag. The BlackKat has the same rating as my Autumn's Fall.
I look towards the back, and I see Meiklare and Pleiknore talking to someone. The Aegis representative shouldn't be here for a few more hours. I tap Jessica's shoulder to follow me, and she snaps out of her depression about the ship's price.
We head for the doors leading into the workshop, and we enter. I see the alien that they are talking to. It's in a futuristic type of suit. I look at the button it's wearing on its collar, and It's the symbol for Aegis. It seems they decided to arrive early—no doubt to talk to the owners about me in private.
They see me and stop their conversation. The representative is slightly taller than the average human and is as pale as a ghost. Definitely humanoid and has shaved head. "Hello, you must be Scott Autumn." The voice that I hear is feminine from the alien. Which means he is a she.
The looks of the alien don't give that away. She reaches her hand out to shake it. "I'm Aegis Representative Zenera. It's nice to meet you in person." I shake her hand, and after a firm one, we pull away. She is waiting for me to start talking, but I do not indicate that I will.
She releases a slightly nervous sigh. "I'm here to discuss a price and royalty amount for the blueprints in the file you sent us. I'm also here to check if you are the legitimate creator of the blueprints." Typical. Looking for any excuse to bring the deal in their favor when it clearly favors me.
I nod for her to follow me, and we pass by Autumn's fall. She notices that it isn't a standard-made ship. "I'm surprised the Meiklare and Pleiknore haven't tried to patent their creation yet. It's a wonderful starship." Talk about insulting. I stop and turn around.
I point to the starship and the insignia on it, along with the name. She squints. "I'm the creator and manufacturer of this ship. Its name is Autumn's Fall. It's the first starship I've ever built. I have many more ones I plan on building." She looks at it in shock.
She gets sidetracked and actually steps up to the platform. I follow her, and I place my hand on the ship. It hums to life as I do. She backs away in surprise. "Don't think about asking for the blueprints for this one. This is mine." I turn back to it and tap on the hull twice, and it shuts down.
I install custom programming to only respond to my touch and commands. It's a semi-sentient ship. However, I can't make it fully sentient. "How many more ideas for ships do you have?" She sounds like she is genuinely curious and actually a little desperate.
I shake my head and roll my eyes. We aren't here to talk about that. I take her to the offices and the apartment soon after. Jess is, of course, following along. We enter the apartment, and I take her to the computer. I tell her to turn away so I can input my codes.
