Chapter 75: DEALING WITH THE STOOGES

 I didn't understand what it was that Bastian was talking about at first. He just looked like he was having a very unpleasant time at the moment. And it just so happened that not two seconds after he said those words I could hear the slamming of a door outside. I knew that it was Kyle coming in so that we could arrest our target. What the hell was about to happen in this room?

I knew that in a matter of seconds that door would be bursting open but I couldn't take my eyes off of Bastian. He seemed to ripple just a little bit. I knew he was a shifter, but was he about to shift here? Right now?

I saw the hair in Bastian's mohawk like style become feathers. I watched as his nose and mouth seemed to elongate and fuse, forming a sort of downward facing and hooked beak. Snowy white feathers sprouted all over his body and his feet, which I saw now had been in a pair of slip-on sandals, had sprouted long talons.
