"Shall we sleep now?" he asked. Since this was the Euphorion tradition, it was clear it wasn't Rose's will.
But Rose grabbed his sleeve and turned to him.
"D-Do you have other clothes? It's a bit cold here," she said nervously. There was no way she could sleep side by side with Angel in such thin clothes. Moreover, they would be in one blanket all night. What if he suddenly touched her? Or what if they slept too close and he got aroused by it? What if he raped her? Those thoughts made her panic even more. She didn't have her weapon and she knew how strong he was, so she tried to prevent all possible bad things as she could.
He caught her concern.
"Wait here." He stood up and walked to his wardrobe to get another outfit. But he was surprised since he didn't find any clothes there, not even another blanket. There was only a note there that said they moved the clothes to a bigger wardrobe and they would bring it tomorrow. As a royal, Angel had his own dressing room but he had a wardrobe in his chamber for a couple of sets of his uniform, sleeping wear, casual set and blanket.
A long breath escaped his mouth since he quickly caught this was just a trick to make sure his wedding night went smoothly.
'They've meddled in my personal business too much,' he thought. Yet, as a new couple, he shouldn't be complaining about this. And he could understand why they did it since he realized his cold attitude, especially towards women, was well known throughout Euphorion.
"Just bear with it for a night and use the blanket to cover it," he said.
"Any clothes are fine," said Rose. She knew they hadn't moved her clothes yet, so she didn't mind wearing his shirt or something.
Angel turned to face her.
"They moved it." He shifted his body to the side to reveal his empty wardrobe.
"All of it."
"No way..." she mumbled. She knew Angel could have asked the servants to bring him extra clothes, but that would only arouse their suspicions.
His hands closed the wardrobe and sat back beside her.
"Get inside the blanket. You'll feel warmer," he said. Indeed he was also a bit nervous about this, but he couldn't complain either. No man would complain about his wife's sexy outfit on their first wedding night.
Rose looked at him in objection but she didn't know what to say.
"Should I make that as my order?" he said again. Her sexy dress highlighted her curves and it was tempting him. So the sooner she got into the blanket, the better.
His words triggered her.
"What if I refuse?" Sharing a blanket with him was too much for her. Although she didn't have another way out, she didn't want this either.
Without warning, he snatched her wrist and it made her turn to him.
"I insist," he said with a look full of intimidation. His gaze silenced her. His dominance was clear and it made her heart beat even harder. Either because she remembered what happened when Angel conquered her kingdom or because of something else.
"This is an order, Rose. Not a request," he made it clear.
Despite her turbulent feeling, she tried to keep her composure.
"You said you wouldn't touch me," she reminded him.
"I won't," he said.
Rose pointed to his grip with her gaze.
"You already know what I mean isn't something like this." Of course, what it meant was they were not allowed to have intercourse.
"But who knows you'll touch me later?" she retorted.
He smirked and brought his face close to her ear. Since he was still holding her hand, she couldn't avoid him.
"If I want to do it... Wouldn't it be better if I used my Devil Puppet spell to make you obey me? Or I could bind you with my dark aura so you can't resist me," he whispered.
Rose was speechless. Although she hated to admit it, he was right. With his power, he could do that easily.
He pulled his face away and released her hand.
"Shall we sleep now?" he said.
Rose couldn't say anything but nodded.
