Cutting him off, Adrian intervened, "Enough of your excuses, stay if you want to but you can't shrug off your duties. You have to visit at least thrice a month and—"
Cutting him off, Athan imitated him, "And be respectful to the old man." Grinning at him, he said, "I know but you should also ask him to stop nagging me."
Ignoring his remark, he continued, "To remind you, we have to attend the reunion."
"It's this year?"
"Yes and your presence is very much needed."
"Fine, I'll be there," Athan agreed as he did not have any other choice. He knew how important the reunion was which happened every twenty five years and if he tried to avoid it, he would piss Adrian a lot.
Walking towards him, Adrian remarked, "It's not like I am trying to take your freedom away and loathe you with responsibilities. You are twenty-eight, you need to find your mate soon and if you don't spend time with the pack, how will you find one?"
Raising his brows, he chuckled, "Wait, you are actually concerned I won't get laid?" When Adrian frowned, he quickly filtered his words. "I mean, you don't have to worry about that, I'll be just fine."
"Don't take these things very lightly, spend more time with the pack." After reminding Athan about his duties, Adrian left.
"You spend all the day with the pack and yet you haven't found your mate, how do you expect me to find one by spending only three days in a month with them?" Athan questioned his brother.
Without saying anything, Adrian left the apartment.

City Block
Ivan's place.
"Here try this, it's a cotton candy flavor." Passing them the tub of ice cream along with the spoon, Ivan glanced at the watch. "Are you both sure Cynthia is coming to take you? Or do you want me to call Jason?"
"Cynthia said she would come to take us when she is done with her work," Rylon answered.
Contemplating for a while, Ivan asked, "From what I know, she doesn't like coming to the human world so why is she here?"
"She still doesn't like it." Looking around, Dylong said in a low voice. "Can we tell you something?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"Do you promise not to tell anyone?"
"Did I ever tell Darius you both broke his lamp? No, right?" Ivan asked.
Looking at each other, the twins nodded their heads. "Okay, you are the only one we can trust."
"Cynthia is weird," Rylon said in a relatively lower voice.
Dylon nodded his head and second his brother's statement. "Yes, she is very weird."
"In what way? Did something happen?" Ivan curiously asked. Though he did not consider himself a part of the clan, the people of the clan were still his family and he cared for them. If anything suspicious was happening, he had to keep an eye on it or inform someone about it.
"Day before yesterday, we sneaked into Cynthia's workplace to steal—ouch—" Rylon groaned in pain when Dylon smacked his arm.
"He means when we sneaked into her workplace to borrow some potion which would help us withstand the heat here, we saw something weird." Without waiting for Ivan's reply, Dylon added, "She was throwing things and it looked like she was very angry about something."
"That's right and it was very scary. She almost smashed every single thing in her workplace and later she started cruising something—"
Scrunching his brows, Ivan asked, "Whom?"
"We don't know but—" Stopping midway, Rylon gulped in nervousness and looked at his brother. When the latter nodded his head, he continued, "But I think she was cursing your mother."
