Chapter 12: First Hunting Quest

'LUK?...Lucky! That's predictable.'

After looking at his stats, all of stats were completely dregs. Only his Luck stat had the highest value and was approaching the limit capacity.

'Calm down, Evan...This must be just a hallucination from my hunger.'

Evan closed his status display and opened it again. He repeated it several times and hoped for a change in his status. But his wish didn't come true. No change happened to his status.

'So my class is only equivalent to living objects that are meant to be killed for experience or quest purposes?! Isn't this too cruel to start my life in a new world!'

Evan could only lament his unfortunate fate repeating itself. Even in his previous life, he had only briefly experienced being someone who was admired by many people, and now he had to repeat the misfortune of being a weak being.

Evan looked around the throne room once more, but there were no other beings apart from him and Lucia.

'I can't do that, even if this system targets that dragon princess, she still has nothing to do with my revenge plan.'

Evan hadn't fallen far enough to take innocent live.

He had to get another prey soon. Evan was a little horrified to remember the penalty if he failed to complete the quest.

Fortunately, at last, he found the right and suitable prey to be used as prey.

'A Snake!'

To be more precise, it was a Python. with a length of 5 meters and certainly stronger than him.

Evan was not afraid to see the size of the reptile which was 5 times longer than himself, because several times he had run quests to catch such a big snake when he was still an adventurer.

By the time Evan was ready with his preparations, but his target was already creeping further up to the throne seat.

'Where did you go, my prey?' Evan immediately chased and pulled the snake's tail down from the throne. Being in a position lower than the snake's head would harm him in terms of attack.

Once on level ground, he certainly wouldn't waste this situation testing his low agility. The result was a little surprising. Even in a hungry state, he could avoid all snake pecks.

*Growl* *Growl* *Growl*

'Looks like I have to end it!'

"Grawr!" The tiny dragon could easily bite the back of a tired snake's head after being toyed with for more than 15 minutes.

Blood oozed out as he used his sharp fangs to tear the python's flesh.

Evan looked at the dead snake. He really didn't know how to roast this snake's flesh.

'If I'm not mistaken I have to make a Rune Circle!' As Evan tried to remember the human way to use it, he was surprised as the Energy Core began to shrink. The aura in the Energy Core slowly circled around his hand.

The sound of the system made Evan breathe a sigh of relief. He managed to escape the unreasonable penalty. Before Evan protested where the reward was after completing the quest, he resumed the interests of his stomach that had stopped just now.

Evan rubbed his bloated stomach with satisfaction and remembered that he still didn't get the reward after completing his first quest.

'Where is my reward now?' Evan tried to talk to the girl who was always talking in his head, but still, he got nothing.

Because his question was ignored. Evan began to think that the female voice in his mind was the voice of a goddess who was playing with him's life.

Amid a protest by Evan to get his reward, the girl who was sleeping on the throne started to wake up and whine, looking for something missing.

Like a startled lizard, Evan immediately crawled and hid behind the pillar. 'Looks like my fight with the snake has woken her up. Damn! because of that sudden quest I failed to leave here unnoticed.'

"Where is he?! I'm sure...that I had put him here! Could it be...he left while I was sleeping!" Lucia hysterically screamed while trying to find something in the dim throne room.

'Who is he looking for?' Evan tried not to make the slightest movement. He couldn't underestimate the power of Lucia, who had a Higher-class Demon Class.

*claps*

When Evan heard a clapping sound, the dim room turned bright in a matter of seconds. All of the fire lightings suddenly lit up, showing how luxurious the throne room was.

'Brother...Please don't leave me alone...Brother...Brother!'
