Chapter 2: Tartaros and the Demon Temple

Arthur appeared on a road whilst holding the unconscious person who was supposedly his master in this grail war.

Trees covered the sides of the road and further ahead one could see a temple's entrance. He walked inside the empty place, the light of the setting sun gave the temple a gloomy feeling. This was the Ryuudou Temple.

He dropped the young man then crouched to touch the ground, closing his eyes in the process.

'I am confident in my fighting power if push comes to shove but there is a huge problem... I can feel the flow of magic, it is too little. The magic power of Ryuunosuke Uryuu is not even close to supporting my power. The magic used in teleportation alone would take an hour to refill at this rate. I can't fight like this... The other caster used human sacrifice for that reason I guess besides enjoying it that is.'

He had a frown on his face as he tried to sense the magical leylines laying beneath the temple, it took a moment but he felt them.

'This is enough to support me, unfortunately, I can't directly connect myself to the leylines, competent mages can detect me that way... I need to use Ryuunosuke as a vessel to transfer it...' He quickly came up with solutions to the problem.

He had huge reserves of magic but it wasn't endless without Fairy Heart, he needed a source to replenish his used magic power. The noble phantasm had a time limit unfortunately and would at most last for 15 minutes and could only be used once a day.

Knowledge entered his mind as he picked up the young man again and entered the building, he easily put the 2-3 people around into sleep in the surroundings with a simple spell. The knowledge was of what he needed to do for territory creation and how to take advantage of the leylines as he wished. It wasn't that he didn't have it already, it was as if he was remembering it.

He quickly started working, drawing symbols and a giant magic circle by using simple magic to carve onto the floor of the building. He put Ryuunosuke in the middle of the circle and made some cuts into his body, the blood flowed into the carvings.

He left the building and began carving runes into various locations in the temple, he used fire magic on stones and conjured a piece of iron for wooden parts that needed work.

Dusk turned to night quickly as he was finished, Ryuunosuke had already lost a lot of blood and was slowly dying, not that he would let it happen.

His eyes turned dark red and glowed slightly as his magic power came to life, the rune lit up all over the temple. He used Enchant to create the connection and heal Ryuunosuke, the runes and magic circle were the stabilizing factor of the connection and would make it lasting. A connection was swiftly created to the leylines, magic flowed to Ryuunosuke, and then to him, the amount was more than enough.

He finally sighed in relief, "Now that's taken care of, I need to make this place my base... Time to make some demons."

He left the temple and enjoyed the fresh air as he walked to the city. He needed some books, blank ones.

As he left the area around the temple, he used Enchant on his clothes that were that zeref had worn in the Alvarez war. They flashed and were changed into simple jeans, shoes, a T-shirt, and a hoodie, all black.

He smiled as he toured the streets of Fuyuki city, enjoying the sights. It took him half an hour to find a store that sold what he wanted. He simply put the owner to temporary sleep and took whatever he needed.

He then simply teleported to the temple and sat down, putting the blank pages to the side and getting the pen, 'Let's begin...'

He began writing on the books as magic flowed to the words, his hands seemed to move on his own. Dusk had long ago turned into night, the moon rose over the clouds, its light making the temple look rather sinister.

A black-haired young man sitting in such a temple and writing in the middle of the night without any lights on would creep out anyone who saw it. Especially the occasional red glow in his eyes.

He wrote and wrote, the sun rose and slowly dusk came again. He stopped at the 4th book and put it down, "This should do... The magic power from leylines can't support more." He murmured to himself and stood up, seemingly not tired at all.

He then frowned, 'Now I need dead bodies... Bones will do as well...' He sighed and teleported to the city.

As he was walking the streets and searching for a graveyard, he was not willing to ask anyone as it would be suspicious, he spotted an interesting person.

He looked for a moment in interest but then looked away and went his own way, he passed by them in the crowded street.

The person stopped and turned around, so did her companion, "What is it saber?" Asked the companion, a white-haired girl.

"Nothing..." The blonde replied and they went on their way, 'This presence, it was a servant.' She thought to herself.

Arthur didn't seem to care as he giddily found his way to the graveyard and dug out three bodies with simple telekinetic magic and brought them to the temple. He created a very strong barrier to block magical fluctuations.

He put down the bodies in the middle of the temple and held the 3 books. He pointed to a body and opened the 1st book, "Rise, Mard Geer."

The letters in the book glowed a sinister purple color and moved on their own, they danced in the air and fused with the body, then the book began burning in black flames as an extremely dark form of magic activated.

The body was engulfed by darkness as it slowly rose all the while changing in strange ways.

"My master..." A man appeared from the darkness and kneeled in front of him. He looked normal except for his long hair that seemed unusual. His presence was dark and yet contained.

He didn't pay the newly created demon much attention, instead, he turned toward the 2nd body, "Rise E.N.D."

The letters shone a bright red and fused with the body, the book exploded in a shower of dark red fire, said fire engulfing the body and burning it all the while changing it. Like a phoenix born of the ashes, a man rose with glowing golden eyes and bright red hair, demonic horns sticking out of his head. Dark red fire surrounded him as if he was a demon from the depth of hell. A feral grin was on his face as horrible power exploded forth in waves.

He kneeled as well, "Father..."

Arthur nodded toward the 2nd demon and turned his attention to the 3rd book. This one was something new, the other two were based on an archetype created by Zeref Dragneel, he had just done some tweaks to it to make sure they didn't have thoughts of killing him. This one had taken most of his time and he had made it as strong as it was possible.

Since the life of all demons would be tied to his, he wasn't worried about betrayal. If he died, so would they. If he wanted to, with a mere thought they would die. It was his magic after all.

"Rise Ulquiorra..." His tone contained a lot of excitement.

Gloomy green light lit up the temple grounds as the letters fused with the body, the book simply turned to ashes in an instant and the ashes fused with the body as well.

A green flame consumed the body and turned it into ashes, the ashes then began to dance in the air as they slowly formed a creature of darkness. Pale face, bat-like wings on its back, piercing slitted yellow eyes, and two long horns on its head. Its power was so horrible that the other two turned to look at it with wide eyes, especially E.N.D his eyes were filled with a strange madness. A rain of despair filled with dark magic power followed his appearance, if not for the barrier, the whole city would be crushed under the presence.

"My lord..." The creature kneeled emotionlessly.

Arthur was very pleased with the outcome, he could feel the power of the demons in front of him. He felt like he didn't need to do anything to win the grail war at all. A strange ambition rose in his heart, 'Maybe I can conquer the world with my power? Becoming the emperor of a planet is bound to be fun while leaving the work for demons to do... Or maybe even the universe? Or more... After all, if one fictional world exists so do the others...'

He shook his head, 'What am I thinking? This world is filled with horrible monsters... I have to win this grail war to become a living being first...'

He turned to the last book and hesitated, 'I will do something about this one later, Now is not the time...'

He put the last book aside and a fireball appeared in his hand, it directly landed on the last corpse and turned it to ashes.

"From now on you are the three demon kings of Tartaros and I shall call this place the Demon Temple. Protect this place until I call you. Mard Geer, there is a young man in the building, make sure he stays alive since he is unconscious. Protect his life at all costs." He instructed them.

The three nodded, just then, they all felt something in the distance, Arthur smiled, 'So it has already begun?'

He began walking in that direction, "Ulquiorra, accompany me and conceal your aura. You two remain."

"Yes, my lord."
