Chapter 102: Chapter 102- Partners in Crime part 2

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Sounds of gunshots rang out, echoing through the forest. Perhaps to some people who might have heard it; someone was hunting a beast. But to the shooter, he was hunting a young maturing, good-looking human being. There was a difference!

The first bullet hit Wilson in the arm and that was only because he had, with a stroke of luck, stretched it while he yawned. It ended up standing in the way of his head and the bullet.

"Ah!" He yelled and fell sideways. The second bullet whizzed past his head as he fell. He turned his head and the third bullet missed by a narrow margin as he hit the ground. Wilson rolled to his left, ignoring the stinging pain to his left arm. He passed by the fire, took a log of burning wood and instantly roles to his feet, making a zigzag line for the trees that he thought would hide him from the light from the fire. As he ran, he placed the hot, still burning log on his bleeding bullet wound, totally ignoring the fact that the bullet was still in his arm

"Grrrrr!" He groaned from the pain. Curses hing on the tip of his tongue. He threw the log at the direction the bullet came from but barely, after the log left his hand, it was shot down. Curses flew out of his mouth. At least, now, he knew better than to show himself. He would be gunned down instantly. He wondered to himself what he should do but could not come up with anything other than stat in hiding and at alert.

'Lolita.' He suddenly remembered. Did they hear the gunshots. Sere they going to be attacked as soon as they got out.

"Dash!" He yelled. "Don't come out!" He actually meant it for the little girl but he was yet to know her name and it did not feel appropriate to call her 'Lolita', so he called her brother - whose name he knew - instead.

Dash obviously heard. He answered back in that snarky tone Wilson had already acquainted him with.

"You think I don't know that? I am not as dumb as you!"

Wilson frowned. Does he really have to be so rude about everything? Or was he just still showing how mad he was at the event earlier that night?

*Bang*

A bullet hit the bark of the huge tree Wilson was resting his back on. From how closely he heard the sound and the way the tree shook, Wilson deduced that if he was the one standing in the shooter's sight, the bullet would hundred percent, hit him in the head.

What to do? Wilson had no idea. He did not have to think too long about a solution though.

"Alright, alright, stop!"

Wilson heard a woman's voice yell out loud.

"Babe, that's a human, not an animal." She said.

'Is the babe the shooter?' Wilson thought. He continued listening. They argued quietly for a little while, whispering back and forth and Wilson could not really pick anything from what they said to each other. Except for the voices. There were definitely two voices.

'Two people. A woman, probably a man as well. But it could also be another woman.' He thought to himself and listened.

"Hello! I'm so sorry for the gunshots. My husband thought he saw a monkey." The woman apologized.

'Monkey?' Wilson questioned his own hearing. 'Me?'He wondered how in the world would someone see him and think he was a monkey.

"Can you please come out so we could talk like gentle people?" She requested politely.

'Come out? That sounds suspicious!' Wilson was still thinking to himself. Experience had taught him better than to readily trust the words of people who tried to harm him at sight. By the way, Dash was an exception. And it was not like Wilson completely trusted him. In fact, he would not be surprised if he was in cahoots with the shooters. After all, they had waited until Dash had entered and activated the tent's defensive system before they shot at him. The only reason he was even bothering himself with Dash was because of that pretty and innocent little girl.

'Wait no!' Wilson shook his head. 'Now is not the time for that!'

The woman waited for a little while before she she spoke again after realizing that Wilson was not coming out.

She dropped her knife and shotgun noisily on the forest floor and tried to persuade him again.

"See, I have dropped my weapons. You should at least show your face and see for yourself, don't you think?"

'Show my face and see for myself?' Wilson repeated in his head. Now that was super suspicious. That alone had put the probability of it being a mistake at a meager five percent and that five percent was simply him hoping that he really would not need to fight two people with weapons that would put holes through him.

Seeing that she had no chance of convincing their bounty target, she picked up her knife and gun and turned her attention to the normal looking tent.

"Hello, little girl." She greeted, using the sweetest, kindest voice she could muster.

Wilson and Dash, who has been listening in on the conversation, jolted.

Little girl? If they had truly thought that Wilson was a big monkey in human clothing, then how did they know about the little girl? These lying bastards.

"Hundred percent!" Wilson thought to himself and nodded.

Now, he knew a fight was inevitable. He had to find a way to get at least one of them.

Dash would not let this go as well. He looked at his little sister that was still sleeping soundly, even drooling a little.

'Did they come for her?' He wondered.

"No problem, I will get rid of them. You just continue to rest, okay?" He whispered into her ears and went on his knees. He believed he had a good enough understanding of Wilson.

In his opinion, someone like Wilson would not sit tight and wait to be killed. He would definitely fight back and so Dash knelt there, waiting for a signal - a sign that Wilson had begun his move.

And Wilson did not disappoint. Soon enough, gunshots rang out in the forest. Gunfire lighting the surroundings in quick flashes.
