Chapter 17: Parting With The Destroyers, Luna's Failed Power

Daniel wanted to retreat because of his alert if he didn't find himself unable to move because of the ball of energy that locked him up.  In front of him, Marfo still showed his eyes that were like natural stone with a deep black color, and soon his eyes returned to those of ordinary humans.

"Want to be killed?"  Marfo casually asked Luna, as if the killing was the easiest thing he had ever done.

Daniel faltered.  Fighting the monsters had grown his courage but if he fought the human beings with several flames in their bodies, it seemed like he couldn't.

The two nations didn't seem to know each other.  The fighters who were monster destroyers from the world of Sotah did not know that Daniel was the legend because the core of the universe had not yet been resurrected.  Meanwhile, for Daniel, the destroyers were things beyond his reach.

Shortly thereafter a man appeared from behind who was wearing another armor, this time not as covered as the one worn by Briana, the girl who caught Daniel for the first time.

"What is wrong?  Why are you still here?  I'm tired of waiting in hiding."  The man who had just arrived had a bow already wrapped around his body.  Not far from where there was a hawk hovering and roaring.

"Velix, you don't need to get off.  It is more useful for you to monitor the surroundings."  Folcar pushed the man named Velix away.  The flames on his hands didn't seem to be hurting Velix.  Did that make sense?  The armor should be able to deliver heat, and Folcar's hands honestly had flames popping out from under his skin.

"I heard that a boy is awake. I thought it wasn't a serious problem but you guys intended to kill him, so…. "  Velix protested, amidst a strong push from Folcar sticking a weapon behind his back.

"That is not important. Get over there, go!"

Folcar's drive had repelled Velix who could leap high on a branch of a tree that was very, very far away.  Daniel frowned.  From such a distance how could he overhear all these conversations?  No telecommunication cables in their ears or body.

As Velix left, the eagle hovering above retreated as well.  It looked like it was Velix's pet.  Even though to be honest it was the demon.

"Well, what then?  Do we need to kill him?  I'm ready."  Folcar drew his weapon which turned out to be a sword as well as a slender spear with sharp serrations like monster thorns on the top.  The serrations could bloom and lengthen automatically.  The tip ignited coalesce fire, and it would be painful if it hit the skin, especially the inside of the body.

"I'm also ready if you want to kill him."  Marfo took out a sword that came out of nowhere.  Suddenly the silvery sword appeared in his hand as if formed from a wisp of wind.

Not far from them, a man with chains on his body was standing and monitoring.  His skin was dark and slightly greenish, had long, messy hair, and very pale eyes.  He who carried the biggest weapon, even bigger than his body which was very strong as an ox.  The weapon was a mace that was extremely black and sounded hissing several times as if he was alive.  On his face, Daniel saw another aura, one that was different from the fighters before him.

"Xy, are you ready with your club?"  called Folcar, who had looked up evilly.  He glanced at the biggest and most terrifying man standing behind.  "Come on, you don't have to growl.  Come on over here quickly. "

Xyros, a dark, semi-green man with chains around his body, was now grimacing like an animal.  Looked like he has a problem with how to speak.  However, he understood all the instructions given to him.  The club in his hand was lifted, and he got ready, along with Folcar and Marfo.  Only Briana was silent while waiting for Luna to think about something.

When all those weapons were about to fly and penetrate Luna's energy ball, Luna interrupted, "Stop!  You can't attack my energy ball without my permission. Since when have you guys been so reckless?  Marfo, you are usually the most restrained but why are you going crazy.  Do you need a sedative?"

Luna was a goddess, from her looked. She was a very beautiful woman with slender yet beautiful curves.  The flame on her body was white, like a pearl bead.  She was wearing an open-sleeved dress.  Her white hair hung down softly, as soft as a feather sash that hung shrewdly from one arm.

Daniel wondered if the feather sash was just decoration, or had some other function.

Folcar, who saw Luna intervene, finally took a few steps back.  "Ooops, okay, I'm not going to intrude on your romance.  I and Xyros are very understanding men.  Alice, want to date me?"

Briana glared and kicked Folcar who was standing not far from her.  And then she looked away in annoyance.

Marfo started to look down a little.  The sword in his hand suddenly vanished.  "Forgive me. I just want to protect you."

"I wasn't even attacked,"  Luna explained calmly.  Her beautiful eyes could bewitch Daniel who was far below her.  Luna might be in her twenty-eight years, or maybe in her thirties.  But she was still very beautiful.

Now Luna got closer to the ball of energy around Daniel.  The movements were very soft and even voiceless.  Her outstretched hand resembled a beautiful dance.  Daniel was stunned, completely stunned.

"Hey, Kid!  Don't look at her for too long or Prince Marfo will chop off your head!" bumbled Folcar from behind.

"Did you see me?  Can you hear me?  Are you conscious because you are completely awake, or are you just dreaming right now?"  Luna's question seemed convoluted in a direction that Daniel did not understand.

For the first time, Daniel finally answered, "I wake up because my wound feels better.  But I still get a little slice of it. "

Luna looked at Daniel's chest.  Her eyes that moved gently looked like even a leaf blown by the weakest wind.  "Who are you?  Are you human?"

Daniel nodded without hesitation.  The fear running through his heart slowly disappeared.  Maybe because of the soothing effect of Luna's voice.  "I'm human, only human.  Who are you?  Are you the one who saved me from that monster last night?"

Luna looked surprised, with a very faint expression.  "So you've faced him before?"

"Yes, and it looks like he was a monster that killed my family seven years ago."

Luna pondered, seemed to be thinking about something.  But soon her face looked up again.  In a very brief glance, Luna's face seemed to emit a beautiful golden aura.  Who was she?  Why was she so beautiful?

"I know.  Looks like you are a little different.  But whatever it is we won't mix it up.  Our mission is done here.  So when you wake up you will forget everything.  What exists is that you fall asleep and find yourself in a strange place.  Good evening, Human.  May your life be happy."  Luna put her shining and beautiful hand on the outside of the ball of energy she had created.  Her bright smile had guided Daniel to a boundless sea of dreams.

Everything passed so quickly that Daniel thought that he was just drowning in a dream.  However, when he woke up he found something different.  His memory didn't disappear, at all.  All the fierce battles in the forest, nothing had passed from his memory.

And when Daniel woke up, he found his whole body covered with white powder-like diamonds.  The powders came from Luna's energy ball.
