Mattheus huffed from where he had been staring at the letter Aleister Octavian had sent him after the dinner party. Their correspondence was restricted to writing again to keep the fact they knew each other from being realized by the Crown family.

It was with a bit of rueful annoyance as the man cursed just how careful a spy the Original was, not leaving previous correspondence lying around for him to fish out. But how else would even the duplicitous Crowley truthfully acknowledge Mattheus Crown as one of the best? Being a truly competent traitor was not exactly something to show off like the other accolades. Though and the Original had never really been a braggart in the first place.

In that sense, Baldroy Harloch had truly been an idiot. An idiot with too much power at that.
