"Alexander," Lexi called out to her brother, as she walked slowly towards him.  He was currently hurled on Ryan like this was the only way he would protect his brother from the gunshots. But then he had been late. 

A few seconds too late and in those seconds, the worst had happened. Maybe he would be okay after a year or two, but then his brother had died of a broken heart. He had never gotten justice for the murders of the love of his life but maybe this was the only way to put an end to the loop.

Ryan had been leading a miserable life over the years and the blank space that Dylan had left was impossible to fill. Perhaps that could explain why he stood in the line of fire, despite knowing that the target of today was him.
