Chapter 8: A path to a bounty hunter
Hakuin entered the hall of bounty hunter, with his katana strapped on his waist, curiously looking around while being a sore thump sticking out from the crowd, various people gathered, from normal mercenary to even some special Jonin, although they were quite rare. He walks to the reception area, which had quite a long line which were made up of different ages, even belong to some kids who were even younger than he was. The man who was behind the desk would simply ask for age and name, not even bothering to look up at the person, while he read a book.
Although time to time his face would light up in red while expressing a quite lewd face which had creeped the majority of the people who were lined up. Next in line it was a man with a scar on his face which showed signs of being quite dissatisfied has he slams his fist onto the counter. Which finally caused a reaction to the man has he looks up away from his book. While the man with the scar was quite bulk with a large sword on his back as he towered over the receptionists. The hall went silent as they stared at the men, the receptionist simply just sighs has he does a ninjutsu in just a blur, a stream of mist envelopes the man has he Begins to scream, by the end of it he was carried up by his friends, and all that was left was simply just flesh with nerves being exposed to the air, which only increased his suffering and an agony experience.
The result of the situation caused some who were dissatisfied to straight their backs, while the rest of the hall went on with their daily noise and ruckus. Soon after it was Hakuin turn as he approaches the reception as he tenses up after witnessing such act, but simply nothing happens as he received a small token of being bronze indicating his was a bounty hunter while heading towards the wall of post filled with quest. As ranking for most bounty hunter went like this, Bronze, Iron, Silver, Gold and lastly chakra blade. Various type of request could be seen ranging from finding a cat all the way to very insane request such as killing a spirit beast, since most spirit beast is seen as national treasure and would become enemies with almost all clans for killing one. Some request would also range either teaching or just simply gather various herbs, although rare herb would require entering the forbidden zones.
Some were quite bloodthirsty from killing Civilian to even kids. Regardless, Hakuin just ignored those at least to preserve any bit of sanity and innocents he might have left. But a particular request caught his attention as he saw protecting a caravan as it led to land of iron, has he heard of various rumor of learning the way of a samurai instead of being a Shinobi. But alas his was too low rank since it would require you to be at least silver or gold. Soon his eyes laid rest on a request on a bounty of a group of bandits but due to the offering of low amount of Ryō, none either bothered looking at it or simply ignored it due to it dangerous it could be for a low bronze bounty hunter.
He soon brings the request to the man who was reading his book, for the first time in forever he looks up with curiosity, he spoke with a bit of concern "you sure you want to take this request? Well not like I care; it is your funereal if you even get a grave." he chuckles at the end. Hakuin just nods as the man shrugged in response, stamping it with of being taken.
