Chapter 189: Falling from Grace

The scriptures said little but they talked about the mystical waters of Amphelia with absolute certainty. They made one immortal and granted them a spectrum of elemental powers. But with every human who bathed in them to obtain these powers, the effectiveness of Amphelia dimmed.

But it never faded.

The last human to use those waters of eternity was the ancient prince often referred to as the prince of life. 

Nesrin wondered why he was the last one. In those times of war, Amphelia wasn't present on some forbidden grounds. Instead, it was in some hilly groves that were shown on the military map.

It seemed unlikely for those humans with fading magic to not rely upon Amphelia. They did wage war on the gods after all.

Or perhaps they did use Amphelia for their gains but not in the manner expected. She had read about the ancient spells that could summon legendary creatures and even entire realms.
