Chapter 154: With A Heavy Heart

"Ezra certainly treasures Her Highness."

Her finger slightly trembled into fists. She knew he did, he had proven himself more than once and it was her blindness, her fear that held them apart. 

A remorseful bitterness rose inside her heart as she glanced away. 

Aaron told her how his mana is surging along her blood, fighting her own element that threatened her life. It was a risky move on his behalf, he said, but nevertheless, it was worth it.

"I don't know if this was a selfless act or... if he did this because he wanted Her Highness to be the one that can take him down."

"Probably both," Nesrin murmured under her breath, "You said Ezra, had His Grace known him from long before?"

Aaron's faint smile faded. He was silent for some heavy moments, eyes gazing into the oblivion before he slipped a hand inside his robes and took out an envelope and something, almost half a feet tall, wrapped within a white piece of cloth.
