Chapter 134: The Warm Cage

The sunlight slipped through Hope's eyelashes announcing the beginning of another day. She slowly moved her head over Drake's chest as she laid her fingers flat against the ridges of his abdomen. She relished the sensation of each rise and fall that followed his every peaceful breath. 

Her ear pressed against his chest could hear the steady thump of his heart pumping blood through his body. Hope's fingers trailed down beneath the cover. A surprise moan came out of her lips when his body rolled over hers.

Hope gripped his shoulders and drew him closer, wonderfully trapped between the mattress behind her and his body above her. Leaning on an elbow to avoid putting his entire weight on her, Drake caressed her ear, hair, and throat till she felt as if she might vibrate out of her skin.
