Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Full Story

"Jason?" Aliyah asked.

I jumped. I was staring at my phone too long trying to interpret what was going on.

"Yeah?" I responded.

"Are you okay?" she inquired.

"Yeah but um...Aliyah. Aren't you gonna put on some clothes? A towel isn't going to cut it."

"Oh my gosh I forgot!I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed as she ran upstairs in embarrassment.

How do you forget you're naked?

I put away my phone and went to the kitchen to fix something to eat. I decided to make some pasta and some leftover meatloaf and some orange juice.

"Ali?" I shouted.

"Yeah?"

"Dinner is ready come and get it!"

"Okay."

Two minutes went by and I saw her, looking even more stunning than the first time I had saw her.

Her figure evident in the white tee and black skirt that she wore that made her brown hair even more.....exquisite to her style.

I placed her plate around her seat as she sat down and mine directly in front of her. It was quiet for a moment, whereas all you could hear were the forks hitting the ceramic plates. I finally got the question out,it was dawning on me.

"So what happened?"

Immediately she stopped chewing.

She didn't move.

She put down her fork and pointed her face to her lap,so I didn't recognize her expression.

"My dad had gang connections, so he was always involved in something gang related. That's what my mom used to tell me. After I was born he gave up that life to provide for me and my mom, although he couldn't get any decent jobs because of his criminal record. So, after like 2 or 3 months, that gang life caught up to him and they shot him...2 blocks away from where I lived. My mom was stressed for almost 4 years, until she met my Stepdad. They got married after my mom found out he had a good job and could provide for me. She went on to have another girl, my half sister Maria. After a while my stepdad kept abusing my mom, and once I turned 9 he started hitting me too. Me and my mom would talk about our life and how we were gonna escape it after she found the money to leave. Fast forward 7 years, my mom and stepdad got into a heated argument and she.....she couldn't take it anymore and left the house with me. We walked for 5 hours nonstop, all I remembered was how fun and free I felt. I wasn't anyone's problem anymore. The next thing I hear is a gunshot and my mom falling to the floor, right in front of me. I turned to where the shot came from but....the car had already sped off. I tried to get people to help my mom, even tried stopping the bleeding, but I knew she was gone. Her body grew cold in my hands and when the ambulance came she was within her final minutes until pronounced dead at the hospital. The police brought me to my home to my sister and stepdad. Now I was the sole target for their abuse and hatred and I couldn't take it anymore. I tried to ask my friends but they just shunned me, until you decided to help. So thanks Jason, you really saved me."

She said most of that while in tears, and once she raised her head to thank me, I saw her face full of makeup, mascara running from her face, revealing some of the bruises she had covered. Something in me started burning, a sort of rage that could make you kill a man if you didn't have half a mind.

" I'm glad I could've helped you out," I told her.

I stood up wondering where she would sleep, until shortly after I remembered the empty third bedroom. I went upstairs to check it out...but the room was empty so Aliyah couldn't stay in there.

"When does your sister get here?" Aliyah questioned.

"Not for another hour," I replied.

We both stood there wondering what we were going to do about sleeping arrangements. My sister most likely wouldn't want her to sleep around her room, because she is a very loud sleeper. The only option for tonight was for her to sleep in my room.

"You'll sleep in my room tonight okay?" I told Aliyah.

"Where are you going to sleep then?"

"In my room ofcourse."

She turned red.

"W-What about the bed...a-are w-we both going to sleep....together?"

"I can sleep in the living room if you want?"

"No it's fine, it's just I've never slept with a boy I liked before," she mumbled, thinking i wouldn't hear her.

"You like me?Why?" I asked.

"You heard that???"

"Kind of hard not to if we're a foot apart."

"Yeah....i do."

Something told me to do something bold. In honesty she wasn't a bad person, and she was cute so I said why not. However, I didn't want to come off as pushy, besides it didn't matter if she likes me, I can't make moves like that without having a relationship with her first, as in get to know her more. That just wasn't me.

**ringggggg**

It was my phone.

I'd received a text from Adam.

'6 days and 23 hours...'

A timer...and I'm guessing they have their own. Aliyah glanced at my phone and out of fear of putting her in danger I turned it off....I wasn't sure if people would somehow make the connection with me and her and use it to manipulate me.

Adam was running out of time.

"Listen Aliyah," I opened up.

"Yes?"

"...When we are at school dont tell people about our relationship okay?at least not without my consent."

"But what about your protection...we had a deal!"

"You're right, which is why I'm always going to be around you, you're not leaving my sight. By the way what did those boys have to do with you?You wanted protection from them but why?"

".....They have money that I didn't have. I stopped receiving funds to go to school after my mom died and in exchange for money and food....I'd sleep with them."

"Well you're here now, and I won't force anything on you, plus my sister will give you enough funds to support yourself. "

"Thanks a lot."

We went into the living room to watch cartoons, so that her mind would be at ease. Half an hour flew by and my sister got home, with Aliyah in my lap sleeping.

"Awww look at the newly wed," Amelia exxagerated.

"Haha very funny."

Aliyah's eyes squinted, and slowly opened up to see my sister smiling at her in a suit.

"Hi Ms.Marquan," she said with her sleepy voice.

"Please girl it's just Amelia oki," Amelia replied cheerfully.

After going in detail about her troubles in her life and sleeping arrangements, Amelia came to a weird consensus.

"Why don't you both stay in the same room?"

That caught me off guard.

"Why?"

"Jason, trust me this will help your case in more ways than 3 I can say. It would be so much more believable if you guys grew to be an actual couple, and the quickest way to do that is by sleeping together. Another is a reason that Jason knows.."

I looked at the floor while Aliyah was dumbfounded.

"One more is that...We are going to expect one more person to stay for a week. I have a friend who needs to stay with us for a week while she's in town but you guys won't see her often."

With that settled, Aliyah moved her stuff into my room and snuggled under the bed and went asleep, as fast as a flicker of a light switch. She must be exhausted after the day she had just had.

I went to see Amelia to talk about her first reason to keeping Aliyah in my room.

"So your first reason?"I said entering her room.

She sat up in her bed.

"If you have an actual girlfriend during this time, no effects will be present. The more you share a genuine connection with that girl and share each other's DNA, the more secure your body is going to be with only Sharing it with that person. Having that girl around will save you from being pressed by dad."

"I'm shocked at how this thing works. It just makes itself exclusive to one woman?"

"Not exactly," Amelia corrected .

"Sharing enough of your own DNA with someone your body considers your true soulmate, the more DNA that they have for your inside their own system, the more it will recognize the DNA it shared and only distribute it with that one person. Like I said this whole gene has it's own mind and security system. Having a girlfriend is a plus in your situation. "

So now I needed to make Aliyah my soulmate. That wasn't going to be hard considering she already liked me, we were gonna sleep together and I was starting to fall for her.

"I have 9 days until my birthday, 6 days to save my friends and falling in live with her could take months if not years."

" Oh, I almost forgot. You have an interview tomorrow with Celebrity Drama TV to talk about Elli's scandals. You need to make people know the real truth behind the scenes."

"Gotcha."

I went into my room to find Elli still asleep. I was a lucky guy that I got a chance like this. I needed to fall in love with this girl, and I'm sure I wasn't going to regret it along the way.

I got into the sheets and wrapped my arms around her body. She shifted in her sleep and I jumped. She just fixed her position to be the little spoon while I cuddled her.

Its glad to know she didn't wake up to hit me and that part about liking me wasn't a lie.

I don't know how but her soft skin, made me feel sleepy and before I knew it I had feel asleep with Aliyah in my arms.
