Chapter 12: Wrath

As the war in Europe rages on, Kal-El has become the forefront spearhead of the devastating destruction towards the Axis powers. His sole contributions had effectively accelerated the rate in which towns and cities were captured by the Allies.

Even now, Kal-El is flying across Europe and deep into Germany's territories as he continues to scan the level of military power remaining in this country.

The sound of anti-air flak rounds did little to deter him as he continued to survey a strange mass movement of people. Understanding that the Germans might be moving prisoners, Kal-El made sure to stay on it's tail and remain incognito in order to find the actual destination of the train.

Listening in, Kal-El can make out something happening on the train. Using his enhanced vision, Kal-El is able to see a young brunette woman cradling a small baby in her arms as an officer was beating her body with the bud of a rifle. She was using her body to shield the baby from harm's way as the other prisoners were unable to do anything but watch in horror of the events unfolding before them.

The German officer signaled his subnornite and lit out a cigar. Opening the moving train side door, the soldier positioned the mother and child so that a single kick would launch her out of the train.

Tired of the baby crying, the officer nodded and moved his hand in order to command the soldier to remove the two annoyances from the train.

With the pistole raised, the German SS soldier aimed it at the begging mother. His finger on the trigger as the release sparks a loud noise. The other prisoners could only scream in terror and anger of what they were witnessing.

But instead of the unthinkable happening, they see a tall handsome man holding the woman and child in his arms. His blue eyes looking down at the innocent baby who stopped crying as she stared at Kal-El in curiosity and innocence.

The mother had her eyes closed and awaited the incoming pain from the bullet. But instead of the dreaded end to her and her daughter, she felt warm all around her body, like some sort of invisible aura. It reminded her of home before the war and before their persecution by the Nazi party.

Still in shock, the woman looked before her savior as Kal-El smiles as best as he could in response.

Tears of relief ran down her face. She and many others thought that the 'Superman' was just a myth perpetuated by the Allies in order to raise morale. They did not dare hope to believe in a savior that would come rescue them in their hours of torment. Some people have lost too much to be clinging to such hopes, but she believed somehow he was real.

Kal-El smiles softly looking at the cute baby as it tries to hold on to his fingers. The action warmed his heart from the months that he has been here in Europe.

"You're alright now little one, I'm here." Kal-El spoke in perfect polish.

"Thank-thank you Superman!" The mother said between tears.

"S-Superman!"

"My god, he is real…"

"I-I was so scared momma, I was afraid that I will die here today."

The prisoners' voices rang out in relief not even caring that the guard and officer was there next to them.

Placing the women and child down to the side, Kal-El couldn't help but feel the rising internal anger inside of him.

Learning more of his heritage, Kal-El was able to discover that his ancient blood thrived in battle and bloodlust, it made his people sole rulers of Krypton. While this was true, a side effect to this power was his internal conflict to control intense wrath within himself. Some rulers in the past did not have the same restraint and compassion that Kal-El has, it turned them into rampaging monsters of unimaginable fury.

Right now, Kal-El knew he had to calm down, but reason is often difficult when under situations of such injustice.

He hovered closer to the two SS officers and soldiers who had fear stricken expressions. They too have heard about the allied Superman and his accomplishments in quickly turning the tide of the war. While he didn't exactly have a track record to kill, just his presence alone made soldiers quake in fear.

Kal-El's eyes glowed red as he stood in front of them menacingly. Kal-El places his hands on their shoulders as he begins interrogating them.

Apparently, the train was to transport soviets, Polish Jews, Romas, and other undesirables to Chelmo, a camp on the Ner River, in German western occupied Poland.

Noticing that the train was now slowing down to a stop. Kal-El takes a hold of the SS officer by the neck and flies right into the middle of the camp.

With a loud landing at a crater, Kal-El was surrounded by German SS soldiers who pointed their guns at him.

The officer raised his hands to his soldiers.

"L-lower down your weapons!"

The soldiers were uneasy but they complied and lowered their weapons. Kal-El throws down the SS officer as he flies over to a dark chamber.

In there, he sees bodies upon bodies stacked up on one another.

Remembering the malnourished people on the train, Kal-El now understood why these people were here. Like animals, they were here to be slaughtered without discrimination and mercy.

Kneeling down, Kal-El sees a teddy bear covered in ashes and dried blood.

At this point, Kal-El has had enough.

With a loud burst of air, Kal-El made his way into the center of the camp and took a hold of the officer. His eyes burning with red energy at the pleading officer. But no words reach Kal-El as he blasts the man's face into oblivion. His skull literally melts from the intense blast and heat.

The soldiers in horror fired their weapons at him, but they too knew of their impending doom. They were all complicit in all of this killing, so with a last ditch effort, they tried to kill Kal-El.

Around 50 or so were non stop trying to kill Superman as he went around killing them without remorse.

Kal-El punches one guard through the chest and throws him into a group of firing squad. Blood and bone bites splattered everywhere along Kal-El's body as he grabs one Nazi by the head flying through the air right into the buildings destroying them along with the bodies of those unfortunate enough.

More German soldiers converged but they had little to no impact and became cannon fodder to Kal-El. In fact, seeing their fellow men being killed off so effortlessly and brutally made them weak from fear. The only thing keeping them from running away was their discipline and loyalty to the Third Reich's cause.

"Kill him!" One SS cried out before his body was blasted by Kal-El's intense heat beam leaving only his charred foot on the ground.

Not caring about his appearance at the moment, Kal-El took a hold of a soldier and used his body as a battering ram of sorts as he flew at Mach speeds into the incoming German soldiers. The devastating brutality destroyed their torso as body parts flew into the air from the many collisions of bodies.

Within seconds, the 5,000 or so German soldiers were decimated as final screams and gunfire rang out into the sky.

With his eyes full of intense wrath, Kal-El lets out a continuous blast as he burns down the camp making sure to not leave a single trace.

Understanding that his work was not done, Kal-El thrusts his arms into the air as he reaches into the skies.

Berlin was only a few seconds away for him.

With Kal-El's mind still remembering the scene earlier, he will end this war himself.
