Chapter 278: Pest Control

Kimmy gulped hard, hearing those words from Cain. She parted her lips to answer, but nothing came out of her mouth.

"Whenever you part your lips like that… I can't help but think that it's a signal that you're giving for me just to kiss you," Cain hoarsely whispered, and he was about to kiss her again when they heard a sudden knock on the door.

Kimmy pushed Cain so hard that the latter almost fell on the floor. She quickly picked up her clothes, promptly ran to Cain's private room, and locked the door.

Cain silently cursed the intruder while he put his clothes back on in swift motion. He opened the door of his office and saw Kevin outside.

Kevin gulped, seeing the dark expression on the face of the royal head doctor. He assumed he came at the wrong timing, so he coughed and cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, Doc, but you were not answering our calls. The King wants you to look after His Highness, Lucas." Kevin informed him.
