Chapter 115: Stepmother

Zakum felt angry and frustrated. The incident that led to Miraven's state occurred in the night. He only discovered it when she did not come in for breakfast. He could not accept that she was harmed while in his castle. 

"What do you mean?" He asked. "Try. You can quote whatever price you want." 

The aggression in his voice was scathing, and he put forward his power in the words to pressure Aisling. In his opinion, she was the person who seemed to understand the case of malevolent energy the most. 

If she did not do something, it meant the situation was hopeless. 

Abaddon's face changed with the aggressive words spoken. He looked at Zakum with dark eyes filled with warning. He was not going to stand aside while Aisling suffered even the smallest grievance from anyone, even a Ruler. 

Zakum realised he had spoken inappropriately. "I apologise. I am too anxious."
