Chapter 36: Troublesome Banshee

Aisling stood on top of the hill alone. She tried to listen to the nature spirits, but even without Abaddon, she could not hear anything. Usually, nature spirits were abundant in places like undeveloped hills, especially ones with beautiful view.

However, even if she could not sense them, she wanted to clean the hill of the sinister energy.

Perhaps, they would come back later.

She knelt on the ground and placed her palms on the ground. Immediately, she sensed the baleful energy which had sunk into the soil. Her eyes became a little more serious.

She suspected that the maliciousness would not subside over time. Based on the current situation, the dark residues in the area would keep spreading and spreading until areas beyond the hill were affected.

With that realisation, she decided to do her best to eliminate the problem.

Aisling had not done this type of cleansing before because she had never faced a similar situation.

However, as long as death was involved, she could pull it into herself without fear. Since she had become a banshee, she had never been afraid of the air associated with death.

Even though there was something else mixed in, she was not afraid.

She pressed her palms on the ground and chanted softly to draw all energies that did not belong on the hill into her body. She could do it without a spell, but she was not certain that she would eliminate everything that way.

As she chanted, a chilly wind started to sweep over the hill. The chill was not like a physical cold. It was something visceral that touched the soul. The wind started softly like a breeze before picking up into a more violent gale.

The palms on the hard ground trembled a little as Aisling finished chanting. Black lines appeared below the skin of her hands before crawling up her arms and disappearing beneath her short-sleeved t-shirt. The flow of the dark death energy into her body was not exactly painful, but it felt so cold.

Before long, the whirlwind which had swept through the hill reached the top surrounded Aisling. At that moment, she was bombarded by the darkness which had lived on that hill.

Aisling remained calm even though she was in the heart of the sinister storm. Wave after wave of energy flowed into her until the hill became quiet.

In her inner mind, Aisling felt herself in the sky. She was not flying or floating. She was an observer, looking at the world.

The earth seems so peaceful and quiet in one moment. Then, she saw flashes of fire and blood, so much blood. There were sounds of pain and suffering everywhere around the world. She did not know how, but she could see the whole world fall.

She felt her body the overwhelming despair and the death, so much death.

It felt like the end of all.

She opened her silver glowing eyes and screamed.

The sound travelled from the little hill to the Temple of Oracles, across the rivers to Izanagi and even to the lively Phoenix.

Of course, the scream was not a simple sound. The scream had an indisputable psychic power that only some could sense.

To some, it was like a soft, annoying hum, but to others, the sound exploded in their skulls.

In a certain mansion in Phoenix, three demi-angels who were still drinking and being merry became alert when the sound reached them. Their power meant that the scream did not affect them, but they could still feel its power.

"Should we check that out?" Ariel asked the other two.

"Doesn't seem to be an attacker? And the sound is far away." Govad responded carelessly.

"Seems unnecessary," Samiel added.

His eyes betrayed nothing, but he suspected that it was the sound of a banshee. Even though he had never heard one, he could feel the power in that sound.

In other parts of the Panthalassa, demi-angels and other creatures of power, including those that were Sleeping in their 'caves' heard the scream. However, not many were interested in going to check it out.

When Aisling finished screaming, she felt weakened and out of power. She had her consciousness, but her body felt weak. She thought she would fall, but Abaddon appeared before her and caught her in his arms.

"You are a very troublesome banshee." He said before he lifted her. "We should leave before someone comes."

Aisling smiled a little, but she did not feel guilt.

Already, she could sense life energy returning to the hill. It would take some time for the true vitality to return to the hill, but the land was no longer contaminated.

It had not been a useless task.

She had accomplished her goal.

Moreover, she remembered what she had seen when the sinister death energy had filled her.

There was definitely something strange going on in Panthalassa, and it would doom the world.

Just as Abaddon was about to unfurl his wings and take to the sky, three women in white appeared on top of the hill.

"Banshee, come with us." They said in chorus.
