Alaric POV
“You needed to see me?” I ask Raven’s father as I stride into his office without knocking. I’m past the point of civility. My frustration with the whole situation is making me impatient.
Raven’s father raises an eyebrow at me, but doesn’t comment on my rudeness.
“Raven is my daughter and I know she gets her stubborn streak from me, so I also know there will be no convincing her not to do this. That being said, I don’t like it one bit. I have a gut feeling that it’s a trap,” Silas says.
“We are in agreement. Something about this doesn’t feel right. It’s all too convenient,” I reply.
“That puts us between a rock and a hard place. We can’t stop Raven, but we may be walking into a battle we can’t win, so I propose we plan for all contingencies…” he continues to talk about how we can safeguard Raven and I listen intently.
