The light emanating from his body was enormous. The boy pointed towards Malcom and Skyler's place and fired a bolt worthy of a hurricane that swept through the entire area.
Skyler and Malcom had provoked the wrath of the Spirit of the Sky.
Alexander's breathing was agitated. He felt the power running through his body.
Every time he took full possession of his powers, a normal rush of adrenaline ran through his body as if he were capable of achieving the greatest feats of the world.
In the distance, the smokescreen generated by his attack rose. Immediately after throwing that terrible attack, fear rose up against his back.
Killing Skyler would be counterproductive.
According to what Bones had told him, she could symbolize a huge source of money, but killing Malcom was completely a death sentence.
Lucio had said that whatever happened to murder a Marked was not acceptable, that would delay all the plans for months, and now looking at how the smoke rose after the attack he had made. His heart trembled rapidly with fear.
"It wasn't that strong! He is not that weak!" He repeated those words while he flew over the impact zone.
If by his impulse he killed them both, the world would come over him.
On the mountain, in a small crevice that led to the entrance of an underground cavern, Skyler and Malcom watched as Alexander flew, trying to find them.
"Did you see the size of that attack?" Skyler asked, completely surprised.
They both heavily breathed as they looked up at the sky, watching Alexander's movements to make sure he couldn't find them. A battle against him would undoubtedly symbolize returning to captivity.
"What will we do now?" Skyler asked.
Malcom looked at the Sky, trying to find an answer. When he turned his face, he saw the depth of the cave and said, "This cave! It is a huge cavern. If we stay here, he will find us... maybe we should go inside and find another way out! We really can't fight this guy!"
Malcom seemed disappointed to say that he was not used to fleeing from battles. Despite his condition, he was always trying to find a way to win.
Still, the consequences of this confrontation were enormous.
Skyler looked at him for a long time and nodding, and they decided to go into the cave.
The darkness prevailed, and on the outskirts, they could still hear the desperate movements of Alexander, who tried with all his might to find them.
The two young men began to walk through the darkness, Skyler using her magic, lit a flame around her hand to light the way.
The cavern grew darker, and her descent seemed to be infinite. After several minutes of walking, the girl stopped and turned her face.
She looked at Malcom with an angry expression and asked, "Why do we have to flee?"
Malcom looked at her seriously. He released a heavy sigh before lowering his gaze to the ground. "If we fight, we will surely lose," he said through clenched teeth. It was the reality that he needed to accept.
"You don't know that!" Skyler answered, and then she took Malcom's hat before holding it in her hand, "With this thing, we could beat him! If we make a good strategy, we can!"
Malcom looked at the hat and then Skyler. Her eyes were burning as much as her magic. The defeats she had felt bothered her.
He shook his head and then said, "In this case, running away is a victory!"
Skyler gritted her teeth hearing him say that, and looking at the ceiling of the cave, and she continued to question, "Why can you accept defeat so easily? Doesn't it bother you that that bastard is stronger than you?"
Malcom looked at her again, and it was at that moment where he really remembered who she was.
Her upbringing, her entire life, had been surrounded by victories.
That sour feeling, where everything seems to fall apart because you are not capable enough to solve a situation, was completely new for her.
"What are you talking about, Skyler? Everyone is stronger than me!" When he said that, Malcom walked past the side and said, "Everyone is always stronger than me!"
She clenched her fists, and looking at Malcom's back as he continued to advance to the darkness, she said, "But not than me!!"
Malcom turned his face and looked at her.
The girl was on the verge of tears when she said, "You! This is your fault! You opened that door, and since that stupid moment, I haven't been able to close it!"
Malcom looked at her, surprised. Her gaze was full of melancholy and reproach, while a clear sadness was noticeable in her eyes.
She walked towards him and, staring at him, and said, "I never lost before facing you… I wasn't supposed to lose that fight, and you just won! Now I can't beat anyone! "
Malcom looked at Skyler and asked with concern, "What are you talking about? You won… In the tournament...!"
She snorted her way to the side, leaving the flame that illuminated the place floating in the air, and as she sat down, she asked, "What does Baxter matter? I had already defeated him before. That is not an achievement!"
When she said that, she looked up and, seeing Malcom, she said, "I lost against Bones! And now this guy beat me too! My last three opponents defeated me! What does it say about me!?"
When the young woman asked that question, she looked at the ground. Her face was full of disappointment and resignation when Malcom, taking a deep breath, touched her shoulder and said, "Maybe you are doing something wrong!"
"No shit Malcom!" The girl said with unmasked bitterness, "Thanks for pointing out the obvious…! You're supposed to be smart, Malcom!"
Malcom smiled at the comment and, sitting next to the young woman, and he said, "You're such a dull! I do not mean that! Everybody says that when you lose, you have to learn from a defeat. In defeat, there is also victory and all those things…!"
