Chapter 308: "A Glint"

Knowing the hole was on his side, Zhao Yang flinched. He suddenly scurried closer to Lai Jiayi, startling the girl to death. 

"B-boss! C-can you move away…" 

Lai Jiayi shifted a bit, but then Zhao Yun got squeezed. Ji Zhuang was also cornered to the other stair handle, making the whole situation awkward. 

"...Yun Yun and Ji Zhuang, climb the stairs first. Next will be me and you, " Zhao Yang suddenly spoke in a hoarse voice as if he had just cried. 

"Whaaat??" Lai Jiayi shrieked. Her voice echoed in the mansion again, just adding more thrill to the situation. 

"Don't scream!" Zhao Yang growled. He kept his body close to Lai Jiayi. "These broken stairs won't fit all of us. So Yun Yun and Ji Zhuang guide the way, we follow after." 

"Sounds good, uncle, " Zhao Yun instantly agreed. "Me and Ji Zhuang will definitely be lighter than you two, so the stairs won't collapse." 

Lai Jiayi's lips twitched.
