"Quickly run! This is an impossible monster that we can win by our own power!" shouted one of the tribesmen while fighting for their lives. They're currently attacked by the abomination soldiers in the middle of the night.
As for the one leading the soldiers here?
It was later known as a Scale Champion.
Leading close to a hundred or so Scale Lizards with it, the Scale Champion attacked the village sneakily before it collectively entered the settlement to deal a killing blow. It took the army of abomination soldiers a single night to destroys what was built over ten years.
And the worst does not stop here.
While the Scale Champion is ravaging the land above, the other abomination hive was defending the bottom from the Orc and Human coalition in a fight of attrition. It was like they're stalling for time.
"Grun-Thar!"
"Scale Worker's attack is too slow. They're not fighting seriously!" Tarzul complained. There was a change in his personality recently after they participate in the battle against the abomination soldiers.
Slowly but sure, Tarzul started to display a hint of intelligence surpassing the other four. Even Cullen Azog noticed the changes happening on Tarzul as he finds it easier to order him around lately.
"Chieftain Cullen." Edward Pinnacle came to Cullen Azog's favorite position.
"Human-Friend Edward." Cullen Azog extends his hand out for a handshake.
"Our neighboring settlement shared something weird with us yesterday. From what the tribesman said, the Hive up above the waterside has started to attack their settlement. Three villages have been destroyed, with no corpses found." said Edward.
"This means problem. Little workers, Orc plus Human, can win. Many workers will be too hard." Cullen Azog replied.
Using the ability of the Exalt, Cullen Azog called Edward Pinnacle to cover his ears before he screamed in a direction.
"Bran-Tar!" the feeling of a curtain of mysterious energy seems to become a sonar as it spreads outward. Soon, the whereabouts of the Abomination Soldiers are all shown in his mind through a weird connection linkage.
"My suspicion is correct. The Abomination seems to be planning for something." Cullen Azog stares blankly at the direction and calmly breathes.
"Is that Exalt? Have you gotten used to applying it during the battle?" Edward Pinnacle asked. From the vague explanation told by the Village Chief, it seems that the power of Exalt is something akin to a psychic force.
Exalt is available to everyone, but only the most talented could use them efficiently without feeling the knockback. But most importantly, nobody knew how to use the Exalt precisely. Even to someone like Cullen Azog, his method of using Exalt is considered barely scratching the surface of its mystery.
"No. But it allowed me to talk to my people and look for the abominations easier. What about you, my Human-Friend?" Cullen Azog asked.
"Me? I can only do something like this..." Edward Pinnacle draws an arrow using his bow. A flame soon appeared on the tip of his arrowhead when he focused all his Exalt force there.
*Xiu!!!*
Edward fired the arrow in the direction pointed by Cullen Azog.
The battle continued. And in a blink of an eye, over a month has passed.
"Destroy the Scale Workers! Do not allow them to push forward!" two Orc Warriors said as they fought against a group of independent abomination workers.
"Attack!" the human hunters following behind them marched forward as they fired their arrow at the Scale Lizard. Using this formation of Orc Warrior in the front and Human Hunter in long-range, this was so far the best formation they could adapt for now.
Once again, the coalition unit managed to clear the abomination soldiers without trouble. But without Cullen Azog here today, things were slightly different than their usual routine.
"Yes! We won! Let's bring the corpses back and let our chef start preparing tonight's dinner." a few hunters happily cheered as they start to put the Scale Lizard's body on a hook. They will drag the body back to the camp once they received an order to return.
"ROAR!" a Scale Champion suddenly appeared from the water and grabbed one of the hunters into the water.
"Ah! Help me!" the hunter immediately cried for help. Unfortunately, his position was a little too far from the other hunters and the two Orc Warriors. By the time they're halfway to where the incident happened, the hunter was separated into two halves through brute force.
"Grun-Thar! Human-Friend died!" one Orc Warrior charged bravely into the shallow water and swung the sword straight at the Scale Champion.
*Ding!*
Sparks were created when the sword and the hardened scale collided. This was the first time something like this happened in their battle against these abomination soldiers.
"ROAR!" the Scale Champion retaliates by swinging its limbs ferociously. To the Orc Warrior's surprise, it actually able to fight against the weapon crafted by Cullen Azog equally without getting injured.
"Grun-Thar! This lizard can fight with the weapon without injury!" the Orc Warrior kicked the Scale Champion away. Fiercely, the Orc Warrior charged forward with the sword in hand as it started to deliver blow after blows onto the Scale Champion's head.
"But the Scale Champion does not get its name for nothing. Using its middle limb to catch the Orc Warrior unaware, it dragged the Orc further into the water.
"Blob! Water battle is bad!" the Orc Warrior struggled. Although it was clueless about how to swim, the natural instinct as a predator allowed it to move as naturally as possible as it gets closer to the surface of the water.
"Har! Must return to the land!" the Orc Warrior flaps as it tried to get closer to the shallow water. As for the other hunters, they're currently caught in a battle too.
"GRUN-THAR!" the second Orc Warrior screamed as it came charging into the water after making a great leap. A bluish light similar to Cullen Azog also appeared on its body as the Orc came to rescue his fellow tribesmen.
"Die! Monster! Let this great Yzak bring you back as a tribute to our Chieftain!" the Orc Warrior struggled as it tried to overpower the Scale Champion with brute force.
"ROAR!!!" getting thrown into a battle against two hardened Orc Warriors abruptly, even the Scale Champion started to lost its confidence as it tried to struggle free.
