Chapter 43: CHAPTER XLI

Mrs. Smith stares blankly at Winter's body, which is getting thinner day by day. The hollows in her cheeks deepens. Doctors still have not found a way to cure Winter. Only the tube from the intravenous device helps Winter’s body get nourishment. Mrs. Smith feels so tired of crying, hates of seeing her daughter lying helpless in bed. Only God knows what could help her at this time. Mrs. Smith fixates her sight at the bracelet that Uncle Zac gave to her, wrapped around Winter's wrist.

Even that stupid thing couldn't help her daughter. The frustration and emotion that have been piling up make her very angry. Mrs. Smith pulls the bracelet open and throws it in the trash.

“Stupid thing! What a joke!" She leans over on the side of Winter's bed and weeps bitterly, hoping all her burdens and sorrows would disappear along with her shed tears.
