Chapter 42: CHAPTER XL

Josh pauses, sits down, and cups his hands over his face. "Oh my God," he grunts softly. "Geez, what happened to my back?" he yells in frustration. "Why is it throbbing all the time?" Josh throws a look at Aidan for answer.

Aidan remains silent, glancing at Amber who is currently standing behind Uncle Zac. Amber bites her lower lip. Josh looks at Aidan and then turns to Amber. His suspicion raises quickly.

"You did agree earlier that we are even, right?" Amber says timidly.

"Yes, she saved my life yesterday, Josh." Aidan also defends Amber.

"What, the hell happened?" Josh still demands answer.

"Amber, you go take my potions." Uncle Zac asks Amber by hand gesture. “The one in the middle, in a clear chocolate jar. Yes, that one next to it. Yes, that's the one."

Uncle Zac takes the jar from Amber's hand. "Take off your shirt!" he orders.
