Chapter 4: 4.
Kennedy POV
We all wait outside for the rest to arrive. Griff gets a message and scrunches her face.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Remember when we told you that we didn't want Kora hitting it off with that guy Jason or getting distracted in general. Well apparently they were flirting at Starbucks so now that could lead to a potential problem." Griff says.
From all I've heard about this girl, she's a loose cannon and she gets away with all her shit. She's from the good part is town with her dad being a politician, she also told me what happened and I'm still pissed she got away with almost killing the whole crew.
"Hey." Vega says in her sing song voice.
"Hey." We say with less enthusiasm.
"What's up?" Kora asked followed by Leena and Amara.
"Oh, nothing just heard about your little endeavor at Starbucks." I say.
"With who?" Erin asks as she and Aria appear.
"No one special." Kora said quickly.
"But special enough to get his number right?" Griff shoots back with her arms folded and her brow raised.
Vega POV
"He was just being nice and greeted. Then we ended up having a decent conversation. Guys relax nothing's gonna happen." Kora tries defusing the situation.
"You better hope nothing happens, otherwise we're gonna have a problem." Griff threatens.
Kora was about to say something when out attention was caught in the other direction.
"Yo you got a nice ass, you need help around the school. I know all the right spots." We hear probably one of the football fools say.
We all turn our heads to see a unfamiliar face (must be a new student) being harassed.
The jocks are all around her and you could tell she wasn't comfortable. Amara and Lee walk towards them and with us close behind.
"Greg leave the girl alone, you're clearly bothering her and making her uncomfortable." Lee says.
"I'll consider it, if Ms Aria here gives me a chance." Greg tried negotiating.
How are you bothering one girl, to make another who has no interest in you jealous?
"You better back up before I punch you. She's told you countless times to leave her alone so just do, and leave her too. Like dude she's really not interested and I'm tired of seeing desperation on your face, it's quite tiring honestly." Lee says with an eye roll.
Greg puts his hands up in defeat and him and his friends head for the entrance.
Taryn POV
"Hey, thanks for that. No one else really said anything. I'm Taryn."
"Hey, it's no problem and I'm Leena, but you can just call me Lee. Let me be your guide, where's your schedule."
I hand it to her.
"Nice, so you have a few classes with me and we also got time to kill before the first period starts."
She takes my wrist and drags me through the hallway.
"This is Ms Williams class, she teaches business. Some of my friends are here."
Griffin POV
After that whole situation in the parking lot. I made my way into my first period, which is business.
I head to my usual seat in the back and put my bag on his chair since he's not here yet.
Since no one is really here, I put my earphones in and slung my right leg over the desk.
Next thing I know I see someone tapping my desk and it's Jason. I remove my bag and he takes his seat beside me, we take business together he's the only other person I know beside Aria.
We struck conversation for a good 10 minutes before he told me that his friend, well our friend and weapon guy Theo texted him and that he needs to go.
I nodded my head and continue listening to music.
Amara POV
"For a person who complains about being late alot, you sure know how to take your damn time." I say kinda irritated.
"Yeah Kora hurry up!" Vee says whole waiting for me, we're going to be late for science.
"Oh yeah cause your not busy as well." Kora says with an eye roll.
"I finished 5 minutes ago." Vee said.
"Hey." a manly voice says, its Theo and his friends.
"Hey, what's up?" we say in unison.
"Were having a pool party this weekend, so we're inviting you and your friends to come."
"We'll talk to the rest and let you know." Kora says.
"Nice, we'll see you around." He says and walks away.
"Kora don't let this now be a green light to distract your self. We still need to go to Boss to know who you're partner's going to be this afternoon." I tell her.
"You know none of you birthed me yet you act like I'm your kid." she says as she slams her locker shut.
"Then you gotta stop acting like one." Vega says sassily.
"Whatever, I'm going to class." she says and leaves.
"Kora eat this, Kora shot them, Kora don't date, Kora your grades, Kora wear this, Kora Kora Kora for fuck sake." she mumbles to herself.
"Let's just go, we'll see her later." I tell.
She agrees and we head to Science with Mr Gray.
No not that one.
When we get to our seats, the bell rings. I text the others to see if they've seen her.
No reply.
"We'll probably see her at lunch, there's no way she going to miss eating or just getting food in general." I tell Vee with a slight chuckle.
"That's for sure." she chuckles.
Taryn POV
"Thanks for showing me around, can I see you at lunch?" I ask hoping she'll agree.
"Yeah sure, we're usually outside by the bleachers but I'll get Amara to bring you, since you guys have the same class." Leena tells me with a small smile.
"Nice see you later." I wave her off as she leaves.
I head over to my science class and take a seat right in the back. I don't need anymore unwanted attention from myself.
"Hey, you're Taryn right?" I hear a vouce ask. When I look up I see two girls.
"Yeah?" I respond.
"Oh well, I'm Vega and this is Amara." Vega says and sticks her hand out. "Nice to meet you and it's nice to see a new face around her." she says.
"Likewise, and yeah I didn't really want to bring attention to myself so I wanted to sit at the back." I tell them sheepishly.
"Yeah this school can be intimidating." she says chuckling lightly.
