Chapter 63: Showdown

Hugo shot his fists out, bringing forth a wave of daggers. They were all made of Black Matter.

It had been two days, as ordered by Kiter. In fact, it had been long past that. But Hugo found the Awakening more interesting as the days passed. So he only stopped 'conversing with it after a week'.

After his near-death encounter, everything felt strange. It felt like time fast-forwarded each time he talked with the Awakening.

Logically, it was impossible. But seemingly, God Grade Awakenings could talk with the Awakened easily.

The daggers struck the huge trees in the park. Sometimes bouncing off of them and other times sticking into them.

The two scenarios had several things in common, such as hitting the tree. But the most prominent one was the marks that adorned the tree.

The sea of blades curved in unimaginable ways and turned back to Hugo, then dispersed in the air into black particles. Some of the particles, however, sunk back into his skin.
