Chapter 72: Confrontation

"Don't even think about trying me, Lizzie. I was the one that gave you your powers - those spells won't work against a deity like me." She warned. Juno's eyes were no longer playful, and the quirkiness of her personality suddenly vanished.

This time around, a more dangerous persona had took over the deity and I froze in place.

It seemed like my voice had suddenly left me and I became extremely cautious with what I should and shouldn't do.

My brain was sending signals to my body and my mouth, but there was nothing that I could do.

Juno leaned forward from her lazy position, her long hair flowing like streams of navy-blue locks shining despite the dim lights.

Something on the deity's hair began to shimmer like silver dust, and one after the other, tiny glowing dahlias bloomed around her crowning glory.

Light shone from her like she was some angel that came down from heaven.

But Juno was not an angel.
