The same thing happened again on the next staircase. Kalon and Micah struggled even more as the demonic Qi increased around them, but Paul kept walking up the stairs, almost as though there was nothing holding him back.

It was lucky that he was walking ahead of them, or he would have found it strange that they were both behind, but Kalon was now wondering just why Micah was feeling the same fatigue that he was.

'Does he have a secret power like me too? I didn't think that there would be anyone else, but what else could it mean?' Kalon thought as he looked at Micah, who seemed to be in more pain than he was. Micah's pace had slowed considerably, and Kalon took a few steps down towards him.

Kalon suddenly stopped in his tracks in front of Micah without warning and turned his back to him.

"Hold on to me," Kalon spoke as quietly as he could to avoid Paul from hearing the two of them.
