Chapter 29: Chapter 25 - Beerus's Immense Power
Beerus rushed towards Meliodas with incredible speed, throwing a powerful punch. Meliodas swiftly blocked it, but the impact from it broke his left arm. He grunted in pain, being pushed a bit back from the punch.
"Let's see how much damage you can soak up before you lose consciousness!" Beerus grinned.
Beerus rushed towards him again, throwing another punch. However, Meliodas quickly dodged it and countered with a punch of his own. Beerus swiped away his punch with some difficulty, blasting him away with a ki blast. The ki blast sent Meliodas flying into the pillar.
"Urgh!" He spat up some blood once again.
Meliodas stood up, rushing towards Beerus and clashing with him. Seiko watched from the sidelines, thinking, when suddenly he got a notification.
[The Auditor, aka Hirota Ryota, has been found. I'd suggest you move quickly.]
His eyes widened reading the notification.
"Uhh I got to go guys, enjoy the show for now!"
Vegeta looked up at him.
"Where are you going?"
"Don't worry about it. I have a rematch to win."
Seiko flew into the sky, flying into a portal.
"Huh. Weird."
Vegeta crossed his arms once again before turning his attention back to the fight.
Meliodas leaned back, just barely dodging a kick from Beerus. Just the force from the kick sent a crushing pressure that sent Meliodas flying into the air. Meliodas quickly recovered, landing on the pillar and sliding his way down.
"AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
With a resounding roar, Meliodas propelled himself off the pillar, hurtling toward Beerus at astonishing speed. Beerus, caught off guard, was unable to react in time as Meliodas's foot connected with his face in a powerful kick. The impact of the strike sent shockwaves throughout the platform.
"Argh!"
Seizing the opportunity while Beerus was momentarily stunned, Meliodas acted decisively. He firmly gripped Beerus by the head and delivered a resounding headbutt, the impact echoing across the platform and further disorienting him.
Without hesitation, Meliodas continued his assault, raising his leg high before delivering a punishing kick to the back of Beerus's head. The force of the blow sent Beerus hurtling downward, crashing into the ground with tremendous force.
"GRAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Meliodas's relentless assault continued as he raised his fist, delivering a series of three thunderous punches to Beerus. Each blow struck with incredible force, causing the platform beneath them to shudder and fracture further with every impact. The sound of the punches reverberated through the platform.
Smoke filled the platform, blinding everyone's vision. Meliodas breathed heavily, jumping back.
"Did...did I get him?"
There was nothing but silence for a couple of seconds. When suddenly, a purple glint could be seen in the smoke.
"!!!"
Meliodas just barely evaded a ferocious punch from Beerus that carried enough force to decimate his head. However, despite his agile evasion, Meliodas was not quite quick enough. Beerus's hand landed firmly on Meliodas's chest, his growl of anger reverberating through the air as he charged a ominous energy into his hand.
"Hakai."
With a surge of devastating power, Beerus conjured a colossal ball of destruction, dwarfing Meliodas in size. The sheer force of the energy blast pushed Meliodas back, nearly sending him tumbling over the edge of the platform.
"U-Urgh!" Melidoas struggled to hold it back.
"Wait! Is he allowed to do that!? I know the other hakai was at low power, but this one could actually erase him!" Kazuma shouted.
Goku was also sharing the same thoughts, wondering what was Beerus's plan here.
"Normally, that would be the case. However if you haven't noticed, Seiko isn't here currently."
Kazuma turned towards Vegeta before turning back his attention to the fight. Meliodas, inch by inch, was being pushed off the edge by the ball of destruction. No matter how strong he was, it was certain that he would end up losing.
"No...not yet!"
As Meliodas roared with an incredible surge of determination, a mysterious mark appeared on his forehead, signifying a hidden reservoir of power. Straining with all his might, he made a last-ditch effort to push back the overwhelming hakai energy.
The hakai energy abruptly exploded, leaving everyone on the battlefield in a state of confusion and anticipation, wondering about the fate of Meliodas.
After the smoke faded away, there stood Meliodas. But he was very bloodied and bruised. In order to prevent himself from being pushed off the edge, he had instead caused the hakai energy to explode, therefore sacrificing his arms in the process. Currently, he had limited fighting options.
"I'm surprised you're still fighting after all of this. Though, those arms are in no shape to continue." Beerus smirked.
"Damn it..."
Beerus rushed towards Meliodas once again, swinging his fist towards him. Meliodas quickly blocked it with his leg before countering with a powerful spinning roundhouse kick to the neck. Beerus quickly caught his kick, throwing Meliodas away. Meliodas quickly recovered, landing on his knees.
"Hnnngh..." He groaned in pain.
"Do me a favor and jump off the edge; it'll be easier and less painful!"
Meliodas only seemed to shine brighter, not giving up. Despite his defeat was basically certain at this point, he kept fighting.
"I didn't hope you think...that was the last of my tricks."
"Hm?"
Meliodas grit his teeth before grabbing his right arm. Beerus looked on in confusion.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"
It was a scenario that no one could have ever possibly imagined. Without warning, Meliodas suddenly lifted his right arm and pulled it off his body with a loud crack. The crowd was in such a state of disbelief that it almost seemed as though time had stopped. And yet, Meliodas was not finished. He then tore his left arm off with his teeth, leaving it lying on the ground, sending a collective gasp of shock through the entire audience.
"I think I'm going to throw up...." Kazuma held his stomach in pain and looked away from the nasty scene.
The peculiar black marking once again materialized on Meliodas's forehead. As everyone watched in awe, his severed arms began to regenerate, emerging from a mysterious, dark energy and becoming black with a purple outline that seemed to emanate from the mark on his forehead.
"That was....interesting, to say the least."
"You won't be so smug soon."
Meliodas rushed towards Beerus with intense speed, clashing with him. The sheer impact of their collision proved devastating, causing the platform beneath them to fracture and explode into countless pieces, sending debris scattering in all directions.
Beerus swiftly leaped back, landing atop a sizable chunk of rubble before launching himself toward Meliodas once more. Meliodas responded in kind, meeting Beerus mid-air in a bone-shaking collision. Both landed powerful punches to each other's faces, the sheer power behind the blows creating shockwaves that reverberated across the ruined platform.
